  1. Unfortunately, luck is not everlasting. The quota of luck the SOX were assigned for this season was pretty much used up in the first half.
  2. Well, at least when the SOX play the Nats, they won't have to face the likes of Lowther and Wells.
  3. The big difference I see between Bobby Dee and Mountcastle, besides defense, is when Mountcastle gets a hit, especially a HR, I'm not surprised.
  4. Btw, Redford asked to wear #9 in that movie in honor of Ted Williams.
  5. I hate it when the pitcher doesn't throw JD a hanger.
  6. The best LH hitter I ever saw was Robert Redford in THE NATURAL.
  7. I guess the s***** chUMP couldn't save Pivetta on that pitch.
  8. Manny was definitely one of the best, but Aaron was the greatest I ever saw.
  9. So was Ortiz with a lot of help from Pedro.
  10. I think Manny's calmness at the plate had to do more with confidence than intensity.
  11. Kike Schwarber(1B) Bogey Devers JD Renfroe Dugo Plawecki Iggy
  12. There was a time in MLB when St Louis was the farthest west city. That changed in 1958.
  13. I believe Pivetta brings intensity to every start. I just hope he has good stuff tonight. 'Calm intensity'? OK, I'll go with that. It does sound like an oxymoron though.
  14. That makes sense. Then 'command' would be throwing strikes w/o employing the middle of the plate. I guess 'command' would also include throwing inside and making the batter uncomfortable.
  15. N.Pivetta(RH) 9-7 4.52ERA vs A.Wells(LH) 1-3 7.61ERA Hopefully, the SOX offense won't make this 7+ ERA clown resemble Sandy Koufax tonight. Go SOX!
  16. I believe 'command' and/or 'control' is the ability to hit the catcher's target more times than not.
  17. Btw, only one team in the NL that year won 90 or more games; The Mets with 97.
  18. In 2006 the Cards ended atop the NL Central with an 83-78 mark. The worst record of any division leader that year. They went on to win the WS.
  19. In the seasons before Sale's TJS, Sale had a habit of wearing down in early to mid-September.
  20. There's no question the SOX starters can handle a one game series.
  21. "Hard To Hande" Black Crowes. Pretty inventive.
  22. I can't help but wonder what Ted Williams' contract would like now of days if he was in his prime.
  23. If the O's win only 1 of 3, that pretty much calculates to their season record.
  24. I'm not sure it's Matt Barnes. I believe he's a victim of body snatching.
