    Still paying salaries to players not on the SOX who were acquired by other GM's.

    Unlike most GM's Bloom isn't perfect. Here's some things I can't blame Bloom for: Kike failing as a lead-off batter. Bogey being unproductive. JD being unproductive. Dalbec's promise of being productive this season, but wasn't. The trade for JBJ. I still believe Cora was the main factor in wanting JBJ back.(JBJ's amount of undeserved playing time i think supports my belief) The plethora of injuries, especially to the pitching staff. And being limited on what he could spend.

    The SOX still have a great shot of being only the 3rd team in MLB history to have no wins by a starter for a complete month. So there's two meaningful games being played this weekend.

    Bill Veeck used a midget to PH named Eddie Gaedel. Veeck told Eddie that if he swung at a pitch, he would shoot him. Cora should apply that threat to most of this line-up.

    I can't prove this but I know it's true. The SOX lead MLB in swinging at pitches outside the strike zone. I was going to say 'balls,' but that might be confusing.

    Not living in Boston is Mazz more critical of the SOX when he's not in the booth? He's definitely not the apologist Wakefield is.

    Btw, Bill appeared in what I consider the funniest episode ever of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. The episode was titled MR SOFTEE. A true classic.

    Bill never used this excuse, but one of his teammates mentioned that Stanley had a habit of not covering 1st base in a timely fashion. The teammate felt that Buckner took his eye off the ball to check if Stanley was going to cover 1st. But, yes, Bill was definitely a class act.

    I picked Dempster because he knew he wasn't helping the club, so instead of staying for the 3rd year of his contract, he retired. Doubt we'll see that happen too often.

    Cora should have PH'd for him, but your idea isn't a bad one.

    Hard to argue with that. Love to see him be a future SOX manager.

    Yup, I met him during the YAZ HOF induction. One of the nicest guys one could ever meet. As a player he had the added responsibility of keeping Williams in line. On and off the field.

    That should sell more JBJ jerseys. Maybe he should bring his glove to the plate instead of a bat.

    Who do you consider the classiest player to wear a SOX uniform? I'm going with Ryan Dempster.

    It still appears that the scientists at the Robotic Institute haven't adjusted JD's launch angle.
