Throwing slow junk to Masa is doing him a favor because that's what he saw a lot of when playing in Japan. What he didn't see much of in Japan was 95+mph fastballs. Those are the pitches he has to adjust to.
I believe the SOX were 10-19 last April, so they've improved on that. However, last year's team did have a great May. Not too sure this current team will have a great May.

A very nice quality start by Houck. It's possible(not likely) that a starting pitcher could have a quality start in each of the 32 games he started in a season and his ERA could end up at 4.50.
