    On a more serious matter tomorrow's SOX opener will be a call up Taylor Scott. The less you know regarding his stats, the better. The A's will have their best starter JP Sears, who has a very impressive WHIP of 1.05.

    Good point. Max could be related to Cora. That would make more sense than my theory.

    OK, Max. Time to fess up. Are you in reality actually Cora posting on these game threads? There's nothing wrong with that, but, at least, admit it.

    Another great thing about the SOX playing the A's over this weekend is the games won't be televised on FOX or ESPN.

    I guess a lot of the trade decision making will depend obviously on where the SOX sit at the TDL. If they're still in the PO picture at that time, I would hope they wouldn't trade Paxton. It wouldn't make any sense, but often, when has good sense ever been a factor?

    Call him what you will, but I see him as good guy to have catching if the batter decides to charge the mound.

    That's true for any pitcher, except maybe Nolan Ryan. It's always a gamble.

    Why would the SOX trade Paxton? For a better pitcher? Who's better than Paxton right now? He was picked as AL pitcher of the month for June.

    That Chang didn't start at SS today probably makes everything positive I've posted about Chang meaningless, because it's still Cora's decision. I don't agree with it, but then, I don't agree with a lot of things.

    If Chang has one of those scheduled day's off, I guess Arroyo would be the better option. But I'm thinking if a secret poll was taken among the SOX pitchers, they'd all favor Chang playing as much as possible.

    I thought we were all waiting for a proven SS Chang to return and now that he has we're talking about Arroyo at SS? Quit making me scratch my head, because I barely have any hair left as it is. Chang should be the starting SS, imho, until Story returns.

    Beating a team one should beat is still a good win, because, as we all know, the SOX have lost to teams this season they should have beat.

    Not only is Acuna a high bar he may be the highest bar in MLB right now.

    That's a pretty high bar. If he can be 90% Acuna, I'd be quite happy.

    I pretty much follow the SOX exclusively, but I would still be surprised if any MLB player has improved more since last year than Duran. In all aspects of the game, except speed. He was born with that.

    There will be some untouchable players on the SOX. Duran will be one of them.

    Another fine performance by Paxton. He has been a life saver for the SOX.

    Do the A's have a farm system or do the drafted players go directly to the A's immediately?

    Rooker may be too good for his team.

    I remember George Carlin doing a rant on golf, explaining how much land golf courses take up and how that wasted land could be better served as cemeteries. I have attempted to play golf, which was years ago, and found for me the best thing about it was I could smoke while playing.

    Supposedly they also never win. Are the A's a bunch of cheetahs?
