  1. Under Yawkey it was beyond 'caustic.' Having never lived in Boston or surrounding area I thought that sad situation had improved drastically. I guess some stains are harder to remove than others.
  2. Speaking of money, how much cash would it take for any of you SOX fans to sell your allegiance to another team? To be more specific how much green would have to be offered for you to become a Yankem fan? We all have our price, so be honest. To be even more specific it would have to be for 5 years. This is kind of similar to what ballplayers do.
  3. Que Sera Sera.
  4. 100% agree. I didn't say it was a bad thing. Similar to top shelf liquor.
  5. If the SOX had matched the Dodgers' offer to Betts, who here thinks he would have stayed in Boston? It's my opinion he would have still gone to the Dodgers. For whatever reason, I believe Betts just wanted out. Maybe it was the weather or maybe it was political or maybe more opportunities for additional income. Or all of the above.
  6. Or "I LOVE MOM" tattoos.
  7. They'll definitely 'run like hell' to the highest bidder. If the SOX are the highest bidder, they'll stay. It's not that complicated. Trout didn't 'run like hell' from the Angels, an organization much, much worse than the SOX. Trout stayed because the Angels made him an offer he couldn't refuse. The movie Jerry Maguire said it best; "Show me the money!"
  8. John Denver? I thought he was dead. Typos can be fun.
  9. The only way I see Dalbec playing 1st is if Hosmer is on a scheduled rest day or if he's DH'ing.
  10. EO vs D. Lynch Because of the plethora of mediocre teams in the AL, the SOX are still a PO contender. Beating really bad teams like the Royals is of the utmost importance. SOX, obviously, need to win today and tomorrow. I know it's a sss, but I'm hoping Hosmer is the spark the SOX really need.
  11. With JD struggling with the bat I could see Dalbec getting some DH time.
  12. But seriously, Bloom made the final decision and that's where the buck stops, but I can still picture Cora whispering in Bloom's ear.
  13. His wild throws were prevalent during his early games with the SOX. For the most part he corrected that problem and was one of the leaders in OF assists. Defensively, Renfro was not JBJ, but, like I posted earlier, imho, he played an above average RF. And unlike, JBJ, he was, obviously, a threat at the plate.
  14. Ah, hell, why not?
  15. I never once thought last year that Renfro was a defensive liabilty in RF.
  16. Btw, I seriously doubt the SOX FO could have acquired thru trade a quality 1st baseman any sooner then the TDL.
  17. My perspective of the problems at 1st base lies on people being fooled, including me. Dalbec finished the 2021 season with a barrage of HR's. Someone rode on a horse thru the streets of Boston proclaiming "Dalbec has finally arrived." Fast forward to 2022 and Dalbec was gonna be the power hitting 1st baseman and Casas was waiting in the wings if Dalbec faltered. Well, Dalbec did falter and Casa was not waiting in the wings, he was waiting to get healthy. So, I blame both Dalbek for fooling the SOX and us and I blame Casas for getting injured. As for trading Renfro for JBJ, I have no explanation for that move other then the fact that Cora is a big JBJ fan.
  18. I wouldn't even dignify 2020 as a season.
  19. Based on how many long term signings go bad, and we've had front row seats on many of them, I agree 100% with you.
  20. But in JD's defense he did give the SOX 3 very good years out of the 5. And he was an important cog in the SOX winning it all in 2018. So there's that. He's very far from being the worst FA the SOX ever signed. There's been a few in recent SOX history who've been a whole lot worse.
  21. Look at the bright side; the SOX could have signed him for 6 years instead of 5.
  22. The Yankems probably shouldn't have traded Gallo.
  23. He's definitely been hitting the ball hard these last two games. He's already my 2nd favorite player on the SOX.
  24. Well he did drive in a couple on a hanger.
  25. Bogey 4-5. Boreass must have lit a fire under Bogey's ass.
