  1. Excellent performance by Early tonight. Not for just the 7 innings of shut out pitching, but also for avoiding the middle relievers.
  2. There's not enough lipstick on the planet to make this Sox offense look good.
  3. It was said a team could win with good pitching and defense. But I think that was before BP's became such a major part of the game. The Sox BP right now negates the good pitching part of the equation.
  4. No post war pitcher had a better season than Gibson in 1968. He started 34 games and completed 28. He pitched a total of 304 innings. His ERA was a microscopic 1.12 with 13 shut outs. He finished the season at 22-9. Oh, his WHIP was .853. How weak was the Cardinals' line-up? Gibby lost 9 games. Best RH pitcher I ever saw.
  5. I remember when Gibson pitched for the weak hitting Cards and when the Cards scored a run, Curt Flood would tell Gibby there's your run. Don't screw up.
  6. I guess Chad forgot to tell his pitchers don't let Caminero beat you.
  7. Most teams have one guy in their line-up where the opposing manager tells his pitcher don't let this guy beat you. I don't believe the Sox have that guy in their line-up.
  8. Tampa is definitely hot, but Caminero does make the Rays a definite threat in the AL.
  9. I believe this current Tampa team may be a lot better than the Tigers.
  10. Caminero is a real young stud. The Sox potential young stud is made of china.
  11. Can the Sox package up Watson, Kelly and Weissert and drop them in the Charles?
  12. 3 words to describe how bad this line-up is: 'Story's batting clean-up.'
  13. The Sox have a few clean-up pitchers, but not a true clean-up hitter.
