    Obviously, the above should have been under game thread. Sorry. But the defensive badness is worth reading.

    Bello vs France Dugo Devers Turner(1B) Duvall Masa(DH) Reyes Abreu(CF) Urias Wong The SOX have a chance of being the worst defensive team in MLB history since the Stat Cast era began. Outs Above Average, zero being average, appears to be the main stat in determining the status of a team's defense. The record for worst OAA was the 2017 Mets at -58. Right now the SOX are at -54. Catchers' defensive stats are not used in OAA. Kike, who's long gone, led with a -14. Casas is at -10, Devers is at -8, and Masa is at -6. In his few games with the SOX this season Story is at +2. Let's hope the SOX don't achieve that embarrassing record. Anyway, GO SOX!

    It was an awesome catch, but the batter was out whether Whitlock caught the ball or not because of the batter interfering with the catcher.

    Speaking of not knowing how many outs there were. I remember a game a while back where Trot Nixon caught a fly ball thinking it was the 3rd out when it was only the 2nd. He immediately gave the ball to a fan in RF seats by the Pesky Pole. Realizing his mistake, he grabbed the ball back from the fan and threw it towards home plate.
