  1. The ultimate 5 tool ballplayer. RIP Say Hey.
  2. This was Houck's 12th straight start where he gave up 3 runs or less.
  3. Not Houck's best performance, but it happens to the best. Wheeler, who spanked the SOX ass last week, got clobbered by the O's in his next start. I believe Wheeler gave up 5 HR's. Of course, the SOX defense that inning didn't help.
  4. Kirk's OPS+ of 46 is still twice as good as Bobby D's.
  5. Well, when Abreu is in RF along with Duran and Rafaela, the SOX probably have the best defensive OF in MLB. Unfortunately, this is definitely not true of the IF.
  6. The White Sox SS Paul DeJong is available for a trade. This is his final year on his contract that pays him $1,750,000. Should the SOX go after him?
  7. With Sale, Story, and Masa one can understand perhaps why JH isn't jumping at large contracts. And that's not counting the Pablo's, the Crawford's and the Price's. Who else am I leaving out?
  8. I had completely forgotten about Grissom. I'm sure the Braves are still laughing about that 'deal.'
  9. I don't know how the SOX can 'dump' Masa w/o eating a large chunk of his remaining contract. It was a gamble signing him and a lot of gambles just don't work out. No one knows that better than a SOX fan.
  10. Looks like Hamilton hurt himself swinging at a pitch. How would I describe this season's SOX team? Fast and Fragile.
  11. Just informed that Betts will be out 6-8 weeks because surgery won't be required. So I doubt the Dodgers will be trading for a SS.
  12. 3 games over .500. When Abreu and Casas return, this line-up should be even better.
  13. I'm guessing Vlad, Jr will be available for a trade by the TDL.
  14. Good start by Pivetta. After throwing 46 pitches after 2, he only threw 60 in the next 5.
  15. Just informed that the SOX have 7 players with an OPS over .800. Most in the majors.
  16. I guess this year would be the 40th annivesary of that rare feat.
  17. 5 HR's, all solos. O'Neill's stats of 14 HR's and 24 RBI scream of many solos.
  18. Speaking of the outfield; in 1984 all three starting OF's for the SOX had over 100 RBI. Rice, Armas and Evans. The SOX finished 4th with an 86-76 record.
