Just checked. The Sox are ranked 16th in LOB. They average 7.11 runners per 9 innings.
-
You mean tonight or the entire season, so far? I know it's a very high number.
-
Contreras is the best hitter on this team and he is a good hitter, not great.
-
Right now there's no great hitters on the Sox.
-
Based from what I've been seeing from both these teams, I'd rather be a Sox fan than a Tigers' fan. I'm not just talking about this series, but over the long haul.
-
I had completely forgotten about Casas until your post
-
Sox are ranked 17th in MLB in strike outs per 9 innings. I was really surprised they weren't ranked lower. After this game their ranking may change.
-
Masa's not into that strike out shite
-
Contreras has definitely provided the Sox with excellent D at first and a good bat. We haven't had that in a long while.
-
The wild cards are wide open even if the teams aren't all that good.
-
There are only 3 teams in the AL with a won/loss record over .500. And one of those teams is only one game over .500.
-
The AL Central reminds me of the 2006 NL Central when the Cardinals won the Central with an 83-78 record and ended up winning the WS.
-
The Tigers are nothing to write home about.
-
Duran has the uncanny ability to make really accurate throws to 2nd base.
-
Our own Jim Lonborg had a lot of Bob Gibson in him. Gentleman Jim wasn't exactly a gentle man on the mound.
-
Prior to 1975.
-
Valdez is being interviewed and when asked about hitting Story, he replied it wasn't intentional. I was just trying to throw strikes. And he said all that BS with straight face.
-
Well 'fan' is just the shortened version of 'fanatic.'
-
Baseball was a different game back when most players were on one year contracts. Batters almost expected to get hit when the preceding hitter launched a HR.
-
There were a lot of surprises tonight.
-
Bob was a mean machine on the mound, but unlike Valdez, I don't remember Gibby ever hitting his own teammate with a baseball.
-
I second your thoughts on Valdez.
-
Very good performance by Bello tonight along with the Sox offense.
-
But I'm all for repeating both A & B.
-
It's also quite possible he was overdue for a decent performance.
