  1. Not that I'm complaining, just the opposite, but this ump has really been squeezing Gausman this inning.
  2. Betts has actually had two well hit balls, but to the wrong part of the field. It's really a good thing when the SOX can win without always having to depend on the 1st 3 hitters.
  3. But, I'm sure, the RAYS are the lesser of the two hates.
  4. I actually hate their ball field more than I hate them. However, if the season ended today, Kevin Cash would get my vote for manager of the year in the AL. I remember Cash being a well-liked player when he played for the SOX.
  5. Another class act has announced his retirement from baseball about a week ago. Chase Utley. Because getting voted into the HOF is such a stat driven endeavor, Utley will probably not make it. However, based on intangibles, I would vote him in. He exemplified what a winning ballplayer was all about.
  6. I'm thinking the O's have had almost as many rainouts as wins so far this year. OK, I'm exaggerating.
  7. I don't know if there is a stat for hitting the ball on the screws the most times at bat, but if there is, Betts, I believe, would also be #1 in that.
  8. Betts is hitting the ball to the wrong part of the field.
  9. Unless my memory is completely shot, it seems Mancini always tends to do well offensively against the SOX.
  10. Reminds me of an old joke dating back to when there was smoking seating on airplanes. Attendant: "Welcome to American Airlines. Would you prefer smoking or non-smoking?" Passenger: "I don't smoke, but I'd prefer the smoking section." Attendant: "Why is that? You must realize that's not the healthiest area to be seated." Passenger: "Thank you for your concern, but that's where the interesting people are." IOW, the game thread is where the interesting people are.
  11. What you say usually amounts to s***.
  12. I'm more than that, at least I think I am.
  13. Btw. w/o mentioning names, how much baseball credibility should be given to a poster who thinks Barnes sucks?
  14. Somehow I have the feeling Key Largo wasn't sad when you left.
  15. Let's all cross our fingers that X-man can stay healthy for the rest of the season.
  16. My bad; that wasn't Nunez who missed the tag, but the rest of my post still stands.
  17. SOX caught a break there. McCann was safe. But it did provide more proof why Nunez shouldn't be anywhere near 2nd, except as a baserunner.
  18. You gotta love Beni's swing. Nothing's perfect, but his swing is close.
  19. I agree. Barnes has not been a problem in the SOX BP. He's been a reliable bridge to Kimbrel.
  20. I wonder what Price is thinking when he watches Sale pitch? Does his conscious bother him? Yeah, right.
  21. Kudo's to DD for Pearce. Here's hoping he can strike a little more gold this week.
  22. Like I posted yesterday, it's truly amazing a team after 100 games is @ .700 winning pctg. with the amount of holes the SOX need to fill. Let me repeat that, TRULY AMAZING.
  23. The best solution for the SOX, both defensively and offensively, IMHO, is to platoon Devers and Nunez at 3rd and have Lin play 2nd, at least until Holt returns. After Holt returns, I never want to see Nunez at 2nd.
