  1. It was a good thing the SOX didn't go overboard with the celebration at home plate yesterday. As fragile as this team is they can't afford celebration injuries.
  2. It was the following year that the mound was lowered.
  3. Mookie x-man jd moreland pearce brock no no nunez sandy jbj
  4. M. Stroman(RH) 2-6 5.90 vs B. Johnson(LH) 1-2 4.23
  5. Imho, Pedro's 2000 AL season may be the greatest of any modern era pitcher. And it occurred in the midst of the steroid period in baseball. His ERA of 1.74 was @2.00 lower than the 2nd place guy Roger Clemens (3.70). The largest difference in the history of baseball.
  6. Speaking of great pitchers, I remember reading a conversation Mantle had with a sports reporter back in the '60's.. The reporter asked Mantle who was the toughest pitcher for him to face. Without hesitation Mantle answered Dick Radatz. Said Mantle "I knew he was going to throw me a fastball every time and I still couldn't hit it."
  7. Steve Pearce not pinch hitting for NO NO Nunez was typical Cora.
  8. Walking JD was definitely the right call.
  9. Just finished watching this exciting game which I recorded earlier. Great win in spite of a terrible managing performance by Cora. This non-sense of not starting a player and then not using him as a PH is pure BS. Btw, Kelly should have never been brought into this game and the SOX DEFINITELY need a front-line reliever. It's the elephant in the room. Again, great win by the SOX, s***** managing by Cora.
  10. Only the road goes on forever. At least according to singer/songwriter Robert Earl Keen.
  11. Very well researched post. Thank you.
  12. When I compare Koufax with Gibson, I take the easy way out by saying that Koufax was the best LH I'd ever seen and Gibson was the best RH I'd ever seen.
  13. Great streak by MAX. Please continue your game thread OP's.
  14. Agreed, but mama said there'd be games like this.
  15. DD, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find a good LH reliever.
  16. Cora asked Sandy what he thought of POR's stuff and Sandy said he didn't catch enough of POR's pitches to give an honest opinion.
  17. I guess DD can throw Scott into the Machado trade package.
  18. Are there two d-money's on this thread?
  19. I'm probably misremembering, but the last time I saw Mr Scott on the mound I don't think he had a beard.
  20. Based on most of your posts, I can understand you saying that.
  21. Have you watched the world news recently?
  22. The only part of that package that might be even a little bit attractive to KC is the Fenway Frank.
  23. To make that deal DD would have to put a horse's head in the KC's owner's bed.
  24. There's no two ways about it; the SOX need a front-line reliever. The Yankems BP is terrific and is the only part of their game that's much better than the SOX.
