  1. With this SOX BP Leon has looked more like a hockey goalie than a catcher. Fantastic job behind the plate.
  2. Stanton has struck out over 200 times this season, so when he puts the ball in play he must be hitting .450.
  3. Btw, 5 innings from the starters will guarantee an early exit from the PO's.
  4. The SOX winning 108 games with this BP is similar to a race car doing 200mph dragging a dead elephant. It just doesn't seem possible.
  5. Whatever happens, the good news is that ESPN won't be involved in any more PO games after tonight. No more Ass-roid.
  6. Although stranger things have happened, I don't see Houston losing to Cleveland in the ALDS.
  7. Let's be honest with ourselves. Wouldn't beating the Yankems in the ALDS be much sweeter than beating the A's? Isn't the main goal of being a SOX fan to beat the F'ing Yankems any time and any place? Bring the Yankems on and may the better team win. Btw, TBS, which will be televising the ALDS, wants the same thing, but for a different reason. $$$$$$
  8. Boone has decided to start Severeno tomorrow which means that Happ will be game 1 pitcher against the SOX if they win. That Happ will possibly start 2 games in the ALDS should be a major reason to worry. Go A's!
  9. Here's hoping Lester, Madden, and Theo are 'rocked' to an early exit tonight.
  10. It's difficult to be worse than A-rod in the game booth, but Ken Simpleton comes close. He's as dumb as he looks.
  11. Thanks, Foghorn Leghorn.
  12. The Poyner crowd may be reconsidering.
  13. Just a thought. Has any team in recent memory won 100+ games and had so many question marks concerning their BP going into the PO's like this SOX team?
  14. Hate Kelly if you want, but he still has the best arm in this SOX BP. I would have him on the PO roster. Who knows? Maybe he'll get hot at the right time. What's more worrisome than Kelly is Sale. I thought he might throw a couple of innings today. The last time he was exposed on the mound Sale's FB was 91. The excuse was mechanical problems. Well, that will be answered Friday and, hopefully, he's back to 97.
  15. I have an amplifier that I use to play music. When I'm done I hit a switch that puts the amp in the stand-by mode. In stand-by no music can be heard until I switch it back to on. Next Friday Cora will hit the SOX switch to on. Let's all hope that the SOX perform similarly to my amplifier.
  16. The biggest difference between these two line-ups is that the Yankems' line-up doesn't disappear after the 4th batter.
  17. Believe whatever gets you thru the day.
  18. Nope, just a valid observation. Of course, your posts have always been positive concerning the SOX this year. Hypocrite.
  19. If anyone here is really confident the SOX will make it thru the 1st round, please send me whatever you're smoking.
  20. For a minute there I thought POM had finally found himself, but as soon as that thought crossed my mind, bing, bang, boom. He's still lost.
  21. The good thing about my predictions is that I'm usually wrong.
  22. Why don't you post your predictions and stop being so thin-skinned?
  23. I like having Sale on this team, but I'm not sure he can be defined as the ACE of the staff because, as I've mentioned previously, he's only at his effective best 5 months out of a 6 month season. I guess we'll have to observe if he is effective in the PO's.
  24. I don't think it's too early to post my predictions for the upcoming AL playoffs, so here they are: WC winner: Yankems ALDS winners: Yankems and Astros ALCS winner: Astros Great regular season by the SOX, in fact, one of the best examples of overachieving I've seen in a very long time. Definition of overachieving: When a team's won/lost record doesn't equate to the actual talent of the overall team. This exact same team could just as easily won 88-90 games this year.
