    Again, you guys are implying that his market value 2 years from now is going to be the same as it is today. If he suffers a career ending injury in July it will impact his future value. I didn't know we had so many nostradamus's on this board.

Again, he could suffer a career ending injury tomorrow or just flat out fail at dealing with the pressure of trying to secure the moon and everything else that comes with it. Boras has no problem with waiting, he's already a fat cat. Sign the contract, take the pressure off, secure your family for generations to come and take that money and invest it. You can just as easily invest that money and get to a billion dollars as you could with 400 million. Not hard.

    It's pretty simple to me. Did your team make the playoffs then you're a candidate. If not then no you shouldn't be. With Mike Trout, the angels don't sniff the playoffs, without mike trouth they don't sniff the playoffs. This shouldn't be complicated.
