  1. Barring some unforeseen twist of fate, in Mookie, we are seeing the rise of a truly generational ALL-Star, all time player. One of the top 5 - 10 players in the game. The kid is something special! It goes against my superstitious nature to even suggest such a grandiose thing, but this kid transcends superstition. Sox need to bite the bullet and pay him top dollar NOW!!!! BEFORE he becomes cost prohibitive, when the bidding war begins! One we can not win. Mookie is this special! At one point, I delussionally thought Beni could be as good?? Beni will be a great player eventually, but Mookie is in a league of his own!
  2. As I just finished saying to my wife, "Jesus! Nunez sucks this ye.....h!!!!!!!! I f***ing knew he was due!!!! Nuney!"
  3. No matter what happens, at least we get JBJ with one more set of swings. If X-Bo or Devers are lucky enough to get on, Vaz can bring em in if the unlikely happens & Jackie somehow falters.
  4. HanRam gonna eND this bitch
  5. I wish like hell Jackie could start his batting stance hand position from a read position, instead of pulling back each time. Keeping his head on the ball would be an added bonus.
  6. 1 of the 2 guys tonight unable to get a hit. .195 .600 Besides Vaz, JBJ is especially sucking arss. :'( love the kid, but he just doesn't seem to learn. Why nobody can get him to shorten up his swing when down in the count? idk?
  7. Would have been a tough catch for most LF's at Fenway. Ball hit on a rope right at him & over his head. He definitely got caught looking, deer in the headlights, & got a bad break on the ball. A really good LF'r would have probably made it look routine. But otherwise, JD had another big game.
  8. I go to games early, and often see guys stretching in pairs. If they are smart, they do build leg endurance, and to a lot of sprit - jog combinations. You are absolutely right, in that basketball, hockey, soccer & soccer players are generally speaking in much better shape. I think baseball players would be better served by staying in better overall shape, but that is tough when you are spending 5 - 6 & often more hours at the ballpark each day. It's such a grueling 162 + schedule though, so I get why most don't do this. Many ride the stationary bike, but that's a different kind of leg strength. It's good, but not the best. Instead of 'self-serving laudatory anecdotes,' I'll take the ..... " my f***ing body is a quitter" excuse. My wife is trying to get me to yoga with her, but I find that it just makes me angry. As I understand the practice, this is not a normal response to such physical exercise? Whatever. I just find their unrelenting calm highly irritating?
  9. JF proven once again to have left untapped potential sitting on the bench! How did he & Red Sox management miss this? Could be as bad as letting The Bambino go to the Yanks? Could be the start of a new Curse? http://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/giants/pitching-panda-pablo-sandovals-journey-wild-little-leaguer-mowing-down-dodgers
  10. LOL :0 I'm slow & a little confused. Are you saying stretching out is unimportant? I'm sure you've hit a grounder & needed a quick start to dig out a single. There goes the ACL & Hammie. Quick break in for a liner in the OF. Stretching matters. Leg endurance matters. Right?
  11. Hey, if we get JD Martinez to understand the need for a lock-down OF, and that his presence in that OF hurts the team as a whole, that would be great. I would add 1 factor to this.... having JDM in the OF adds a big hitting Mooreland to the mix. I love having JDM, Hanley, & Mooreland in the lineup!!!!! Yeh, the OF is weeker, but those 3 bats are formidable!
  12. I'm not so sure he's forcing time in the OF, "to prove he can play there," near as much as he just likes playing the OF. Anyway, I was pretty sure they promised him playing time to get the deal done, and truthfully, I'm happy to give it to him to keep him happy, and guys fresh. I think it pays dividends over the long long season. It will be cringe-worthy sometimes, but all in all, the guy is worth it.
  13. Ok .... I for one cop to the "questionable sexual practices." I think they'Re still illegal in 8 or so states, but my wife makes me do it. Sure, I like it, but could likely get off of any serious time served with the, "she made me do it" defense? Plus, they are suckers for the whole -"she ate the god damned apple" thing.
  14. WTF???? LOL :0 I haven't a clue what that was about, but :0 it got me laughing??? Do tell?
  15. That one was less fundamentals than mental mistake. He has to know that the man is going in hard to 2nd. Taking a quick look is appropriate, but making a s*** throw with barely a look & going for a prayer throw across his body, is just plain dumb. The game just speeds up on this kid with regularity, and he's still a bit too young & green to slow it down. Yeh. We're probably taking semantics, & likely saying the same thing. I just don't have a problem with a glance to second, it's the dumb pressing to make a big play, and putting your guys in a bigger jam.
  16. Need 2 K's
  17. Ugh Devers!
  18. Lucky, but good hit
  19. Lin ain't the same Lin we saw early on.
  20. Hats off to The Sandman.
  21. Exceptional catch. Doing it both ways.
  22. So, Colume' really is as stupid as he looks in that Flippin cocked cap! He walked JBJ
  23. That was a truly UGLY swing by Nuner! 1/4 hearted. A concession swing at best.
  24. 12 years ago, my new, upgraded, second and only real wife planned our Honeymoon at the Seattle series. Met her & started dating during the 04 series. GAME 4 ALCS she refused to leave my hard kitchen bar stool, "because she felt the Sox were coming back." It worked. I had to marry her after that! Good thing I did. She was a huge factor in 07 & 13 too. TH A NK GOD for Direct TV & Extra Innings. I was living a relatively meaningless life from 84 - 2001 :'(
  25. Where did you transplant to?
