  1. Behind home plate, in the shade. Another great day at the ballpark! If you've never been to Safeco you haven't lived!
  2. So HOT.... 80 degrees.... has to be. I've moved to shade in RF
  3. Spectacular afternoon here in Seattle
  4. 75 degrees & not a cloud in the sky
  5. Beautiful night here at Safeco!
  6. Agreed. In fact, in his inaugural season, that's exactly how he radically turned his young MLB career around. He suddenly started harnessing that raw power and pounding the ball to the opposite field.... We were having the same conversation..... "FANTASTIC CF'r, but can he hit MLB pitching?" And suddenly this fledgling GOLD GLOVER began to show us that in fact he could hit mlb.pitching. could even hit a semi-respectable .260+, while playing CF like few others ever have....... Still, he inevitably backsides for months at a time, only to get hot again. The cycle goes on & on with this kid. Well....... "This kid ain't a kid no more!" This full grown man inexplicably routinely forgets the basics of keeping his head ON THE BALL fully through the zone, and gives into the lure of swinging from his arss & pulling the s*** out of every pitch. NOW he daydreams about launch angle, and 30 bombs to DEEP RIGHT FIELD, while his rotating head rips his shoulders into Right field, while he repeatedly fans over one after the other breaking ball down & in. At least the fans down the 1st base line are regularly getting a nice breeze. Well, it's back to the future.... can the 'kid.....' ah.... mature MLB cf'r remember how to hit with consistency? Can her CONSISTENTLY remember to keep his head and shoulders on the ball all the way through the zone? Can he remember to GO WITH THE PITCH and start punishing pitchers when they give him the outside of the plate? Can he pick up on the breaking ball down & in, and lay off? Well..... Once again, mlb pitchers have figured out that down & in GAPING HOLE in JBJ's swing. They see that he simply can't pick up on the spin of the ball, and sees every pitch as straight inside cheese ..... like a Pavlovian mouse, Jackie can't lay off the 'whiff' of cheese..... On & on we go..... Will 'The kid's' .... mature GG'r make it back out of the maze, & remember every pitch ain't cheese???? It's maddening! It's time for this mature MLB player to get back to the basics of a controlled swing, and give up the ghost of launch angles & right field bombs! Stop swinging from his arss every pitch. Keep his head & shoulders on the ball ALL THE WAY through the zone. Stay under control, and quiet down that swing. ....... Get that head under control & off the swivel. DRIVE THE BALL under control to the opposite field! Sorry to rant! Just needed to get that thesis off my chest. Now go get 'em kid's! Go back to the future that kept you up for good in the bits. Drive & slap that ball opposite field.
  7. The kid is too good in the field to lose him to locked in bad habits!
  8. Back to Jackie.... Barring news of some mysterious injury, this is stunning regression by JBJ. NO DOUBT, Cora has him working overtime with the hitting coach? Of so you would think?? The troubling thing is seeing absolutely no evidence that he's trying to change his approach? This leads me to wonder if Cora is trying to take a low key approach to working with JBJ? Is there any chance that this could be the case. Just keep telling JBJ, "don't worry about it kid. You'll hit your way out of this...." If certainly feels that way? Why else would JBJ continue to swing aimlessly from his arss on every pitch. I'm not sure I've ever seen a guy so consistently rip over the breaking pitch down & in. It's stunning the consistency he shows on This? If Cora is taking the Le se faire, "no worries kid," approach, what is the breaking point? When does Cora begin to worry that he's cementing back in JBJ's old bad habits, and potentially helping him dig a ditch too deep to swing out of? It's time he was forced out of this. Very limited objectives on every ab. It's ONLY about making contact on every swing, and perhaps working the count? idk ?
  9. 1 down, 3 to go... I hope we'll be celebrating the sweep Mon, on the drive back from Seattle!
  10. Great win! Bogie gets the game ball! Price too! GOOD ON Price! Looks like a different guy!
  11. 2nd game recently walking the 1st batter
  12. No it won't, but I want to see another Astros type series, where we play well against a legit team! CRAZY to think that the Mariners could be for real. We have trouble with the Mariners every year, even when they are bad. I'm hoping that Cora impresses upon our guys that they better be ready to bring it. Back of the pitching rotation too..... Hope it's a good series. My in-laws are all Mariners fans!
  13. Well, it didn't help that he was getting fried on the bench ( ok ok well before the games ) with Hanley in 2015? Kidding ..... do I believe it? Yep. Can I substantiate it? Nope. When will this be ok to talk about? Hanley is gone, right? Anyway, winning .... covers up a lot of s***. JBJ, who absolutely refuses to change his plate approach, and Devers, are still around because the Sox are winning..... All is good with the Sox!!
  14. LOL :0 ok ok I'm driving up from Oregon tomorrow after work. Can't make it to Friday Night Game, so I was hoping you guys would fly out tonight to cover for me????
  15. Looking like the Mariners are for real! So nervous about this series, that I implore all Sox fans for take a road trip. Ok... so, you'll miss the first game, but it's worth the plane ride. You make tomorrow, Sat, & Sun. I will be There! Let's go Sox! See you there.
  16. So wait... What? Holt, who can & does fill in almost anywhere, with this line..... 36117103133191114311219.301.376.437.813 Hitting .301, an Obp of .376, slg% of .437, OPS of .813. 14 rbi's in 36 games. .... As a sub..... Does not bring a lot to this team? Say what?
  17. I never even had a doubt! Not for one second! I knew this part of the order would blow it. GOOD ON Holt & JBJ for proving many of us wrong!
  18. Holt on! He did his job!
  19. Well, after a REALLY NICE run, the Sox are struggling against s*** teams. I hate it, but we were due for a letdown.
  20. As somebody much more plugged in than I put it, "he's always the 3rd best answer . . . . at any given position.
  21. And that was in Portland. Small pond. Small sample. We were desperate for a catcher at the time. I've rarely seen a kid so over-sold. Most don't buy it any longer....
  22. What really has me worried is that it seems that his approach at the plate is absolutely locked in? It is startling to see nothing in the way of change. No matter the count, Bradley gets up there & hacks away, swinging for the downs. He DOES NOT keep his head on the ball, & go with the pitch. It's troubling to see zero adjustments. Never a shorter, quieter swing! He's clearly not reading the pitches. Has no idea what's coming, & let's it rip every pitch.
  23. Can somebody please give me ANY SPECIFIC Minor League stat that portends the slightest possibility of Swi becoming "special?" Or.... Even remotely good as a MLB player?
