  1. Obviously Mookie, with his sky-high OBP, is a perfect leadoff guy. But, given his HR's & slg%, he is also THE PERFECT 3 or 4 spot guy. There is no question that many of his solo HR's & doubles have not had maximum value due to the shyte performance from JBJ, Vaz, & Devers, all 3 directly in front of him. THIS is the crux the matter..... would we get more value added with Mookie having a guy or two in front of him? The answer is self-evident. The answer is ... "of course!" It would help the team. Both Beni and Bogie would both be good leadoff guys with relatively high obp, so we're good to go there. Again, Yes! Mookie' S speed & obp make him far superior. Really, the only question is, would it be better for the team to have a hitter or 2 in front of Mookie? Answer ..... YES! For the record, both Papi and Manny were perennial high rbi guys hitting 3 , 4, in our lineup for years.. We have both in JDM & Mookie. The answer to where Mookie should hit is Obviously! Except that it's not. I can make THE STRONGEST ARGUEMENT POSSIBLE, but when it comes down to pulling the trigger on that pitch, I balk and worry about messing with Mookie's perfect mojo? Again.... the answer is clear. I don't know what the right answer is. I ask Mookie, & go with whatever he wants to do.
  2. Props to Price! Another fine start. We dog him quite a bit, but he is beginning to put together a pretty nice comeback after a rocky patch. Good on him! Kept us in the game, & got the win.
  3. LOL :0 True. I do like to bury me a good troll. It probably comes down to me not knowing the guy's history, but given his posting numbers here, he must be a bit more than a Pikish concern troll?
  4. GREAT comeback win against a GREAT team!
  5. It was actually kind of funny.
  6. Kid right behind home plate doing the Kimbrel scarecrow arm look in to get the sign.
  7. Atta boy Kimbrel!
  8. Ok .... let's go Kimbrel
  9. Other than 2014 in Portland, what the hell has Swi done at the plate? Can somebody tell me where people got the idea that Swi can hit????
  10. Swi I don't want to see much more from him Last 30 46 3 7 0 2 5 13 1 .152 .235 .174 I get that they are trying to shop Swi, but I hate seeing him in the lineup!
  11. Hey Moon. Saw you You wore the same suit & pensive look. Nice move!
  12. Dogs are great, except for my 2 Weiner dogs. Cats suck, except for my adopted stray. It lives outside though. People are generally speaking pretty ok. More good than bad. Vaz has sucked, but is mvp today. He should run for mayor. Price. Did pretty well AGAIN! Now that the B's & C's are done, Boston is about to wake up to Boston's best contract since Papi! JDM will become a quiet rock star in Boston.
  13. I hear that Dewey, and definitely respect your opinion.... but, if Jacksonian had not started this thread, it would have been started by one of us. Devers has been tanking for at least the last 30+ games at the plate, and his D is ...... wanting at best. I get that he was somewhat "trolling," but if the guy gets off on talking about young RS up & comers still struggling because they were clearly pushed forward too early because of the Pablo debacle, then LOL :0 at him. If that gets his little Yankee raisins off, who cares. I think the main point is Devers, and what should be done? THAT is a legit point, even if a Yankee Troll has other things in mind. Our pitching has been shyte lately, we have major issues at 2nd with Pedey ailing, JBJ continues to struggle, we had to dump our 1st baseman for a journeyman, 3rd base is problem with Devers, the C Position is a major problem right now, we have major holes with our BP, but the young Sox still keep on coming! If the Sox can get a few of these issues straightened out, the Yankees are in trouble. No doubt, they and the Astros are stacked, but the Red Sox can compete with anyone in the league right now. We get a few guys to straighten up & play to their potential, & the pitching turns around, everyone including Jacksonian knows that the Red Sox will be DANGEROUS in the coming post season! Let him troll on. No worries.
  14. Still stuck with the LPGA. Good for the girls, but I'd like to see the game just the same.
  15. Sure, is it a bit bizzare to have a Yankee fan join in on RS board? Yep. It's weird. On the other hand, I think we are a bit more mature than the dipshits on the Yankee talk boards, which explains Jacksonian's desire to be here? Given that likely fact, why not simply welcome the guy, and engage his debate? There is no doubt that Devers is struggling mightily, but we assume he Wil come around. I'm not sure he does this year, but the kid clearly has big power & will eventually come around on D. What is the harm in debating the guy? I don't particularly care what he thinks either way, but reading facts & debating has never scared me. Nor does it aggravate me. It doesn't frustrate or anger me. Again, I find it a little weird, but different strokes for different folks. At least he's not a Piker, trolling everyone & accusing every other poster of being a Yankee troll. The guy admits to being a Yankee fan. Too bad for him.
  16. Yes. Devers is raw. He is a raw young talent with serious pop. I hope we can afford to stick with him despite his growing pains. For me, Devers is THE #1 potential hole in this lineup that 'could' really cost the Sox in a post season run. His D is also a potential pothole. Ok . . . Also JBJ, Vaz, & 2nd base (if Pedey does not get fully healthy & return to form?) These are simple facts. Another fact? The Sox have few options ... we are pretty much locked in to sticking with the kid. I hope he starts to figure things out. Last 30 games.. 112 13 22 5 8 8 31 0 .196 .250 .375 Pretty brutal ! 5 hr's but only 8 rbi's & 31 SO's. Ops of .625
  17. Many have already said so, but what it comes down to is 'not messing with Mookie's off the charts, .... historic.... breakout SUPERSTAR mojo.' That's the one thing I cringe at messing with. Ideally, I'd like to have Beni in front of Mookie to maximize / capitalize on Betts knocking in even more runs, given the pathetic production from the 7,8,9 htters. 8 & 9 especially. After that, I'm liking the look of Beni, Betts, Moreland, JDM, Bogie, Pedey, Devers, JBJ, Sandy. I'd like to see Vaz get more 'rest.' I'd love to try this order to maximize / capitalize on Mookie's bat, but if Mookie's mojo wavers at all, or he doesn't feel as comfortable ???? Fugettaboutit!
  18. That's the whole point. The belief is, and it makes very good sense, it's best to have a high OBP guy with speed at the leadoff. Save your power to go behind that. I think the best lineup is beni, Bogie, Mookie, JDM, Mooreland, Pedey, Devers, JBJ, Vaz. Save Mookie's big bat & get him more rbi ops. Too many of his HR's could drive in more runs. Our bottom 2 right in front of Mookie have been pathetic. Nice to see JBJ & Sandi heat up.
  19. BIG punch / lob out!
  20. My God! Pretty soon we'll have a rule requiring formally announcing a slide into home plate? Perhaps the bench will even be required to chant "red rover red rover..." perhaps a little bicycle bell to slide into 2nd? Ughhh! Yes! We have a truly OFFENSIVE catcher! I hear Sandy even spits seeds in the dugout????
  21. I thought we needed an offensive catcher!? Not some mamby pamby effete genteel catcher. One with impeccable manners.... this is the attitude that banned blocking the plate?.?
  22. WTF!? Those bastard Yankee trolls will stop at nothing ! Damn them!
  23. Look dude. Sorry I pissed you off. I realize that my minor point about Hanley & Pablo was unsubstantiated and pointless. Otherwise, I honestly like both guys!! My point was not worth talking about, as there are plenty of guys.... like Beni on the base-paths... who look a bit loopy. Anyway, I apogize for putting that out, and I meant no harm. Guys get pretty brutal about MANY a Red Sox player, but I know I'm on record as supporting almost ALL, and being pretty tempered with my knocks on guys. This particular knock had nothing to do with overall looks. It was all about the eyes. Still, it was stupid. Sorry if i.genuinely upset anybody about 'looks!' That was not my intention, but I clearly said something stupid. Mea culpa maximo!!!! Seriously! Very sorry! I know I can sometimes go off, but my intentions are never to personally bring someone down!
