  1. I'm good with 7 of 12 too
  2. Sox go 10 of 12, & finish with an epic .700 record. 3% chance.
  3. Reading about far too many NFL players who actually believe that the world is flat? Sure, thinking the moon landing is a fake puts you in a league of your own, with few dumb enough to even make it into their minor league system.... The NFL players who think the world is FLAT, "because, any way you ever look at it, it always looks flat," redefine insanity.
  4. Well, we're getting down to it.... so here's the update. 135 529 99 154 38 6 16 80 67 101 20 3 .291 .369 .476 .846 I was a bit over-optimistic, but the kid had a break-out year none the less. Nice job Beni!
  5. I think we get to 106 easy. Likely 108. BUT, I think Cora does it carefully, & never over-taxing anyone on the team. Most of all, Sale, Price, & Bordello (oh what the hell... why correct this auto-correct / typo?) I would not pitch any one of these guys more than 7 innings at any cost. Certainly, 90 pitches would be my max. Same for E-Rod. Plenty of rest for our starters also. Tell every player, "play hard, but play smart! NO heroics that could result in injury." Keep them sharp and focused. Loose but careful. LOL :0. You figure that one out. It's all about the post-season now.
  6. This is NOT all that complicated. D. Iggy is an incredibly talented SS, with God given physical speed and agility that few SS & athletes have. He has also obviously worked incredibly hard in honing these skills. Not many come close to being able to match his abilities to make spectacular defensive plays. Bogie has CLEARLY worked hard at becoming a very good MLB SS! He makes most of the plays Iggie makes. He's better than most MLB SS, and he's getting better every year. O Bogie is CLEARLY the superior offensive player! HR's Bogie 20, Iggie 5 > That's 15 bombs that likely helped the Sox win that day. 15 games where he had a significant impact on helping his team win. ( yeh yeh yeh..., I get that there are games where he had multiple HR's) RBI's: Bogie will end the season with close to 100. Iggie 50. That's +50 runs over the season (duh ) 50 times Bogie gives us a significantly better chance of winning. Runs scored: Bogie 65, Iggie 43, yeh, getting on base matters OPS .869 vs .699 * Bottom line, I take Bogie's VERY SOLID D, and his CLEARLY SUPERIOR bat every day of the week, and never give it a second thought. I don't need WAR to figure this out. I don't need WAR to tell me that I THINK Bogie is the no-brainer choice if I'm an MLB GM. Now, having said all this, my original OP was simply to acknowledge a great year by Bogie. I probably shouldn't have mentioned Iggy. I like him very much, and fully acknowledge that he is a one of a kind SS. I still take Bogie without a second thought, so I guess in my mind Bogie is a far superior SS option when factoring in Offense (The other 1/2 of the player evaluation equation).
  7. Not scientific, but 89 rbi's per 119 games extrapolated to 150 games healthy .... 112 rbi season 19 HR per 119 games = 24 HR's per 150 games Plus, Bogie has become a more than solid MLB SS. Break out season! Bogie MLB career ... 2870 424 811 70 372 47 .283 .341 .767 Jose' I's MLB career ...2202 247 594 21 188 46 .270 .315 .678 This breakout YEAR? Bogie will likely end up with 100+ rbi's & 22+ HR's Jose I will likely end up with 55 rbi's & 6 - 7 HR's Case closed. Sox made the right move.
  8. New Middle schooler.... & football player. I'll leave it to those with time to extrapolate the stats to 162 games. Moon?
  9. 119 452 64 127 41 3 19 89 48 88 6 2 .281 .354 .511 .865 89 RBI's, probably 100 this season .865 OPS 19 HR's, could reach 25? VERY SOLID on D all year long ALL THIS in only 119 games!!!! This kid is THE UNSUNG HERO of 2018! ABSOLUTELY an ALL-Star this YEAR! Was not named, but this is an ALL-Star year by any standard!
  10. Swihart since All Star Break C 21 59 10 15 4 0 1 8 4 14 2 0 .254 .302 .373 .674 Yet, so many demanded that he can rake? His minor league stats never suggested that, yet we were told he's an excellent bat? It seems the best we can say about Blake is, Sandy blows this year, Vaz sucked & now is injured. Has he added trade value since Vaz went down? Sure.
  11. Jumping the shark! Over your skies! Rampant hyperbole! Get control of yourself man!
  12. LOL :0 Good call Dewey
  13. LOL :0 A quiet season for the ages, that every nitwit will say they hung on every pitch. The bandwagon C's, B's, & P's will swear they watched every inning. LOL :0
  14. It must have slipped my mind
  15. Did I ever tell you that I called the Red Sox at 50 games over .500 by Aug. 12th in April
  16. This drama is killing me! I just CAN'T go back to those dark dark days below 50 games over .500!
  17. Remember the misery when we were under 50 games above .500? I don't ever want to go back to those dark days! I can't go back There! We can't go back there!
  18. Moor Land! YARD?
  19. Good read. Take note ! https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2790259-jayson-werth-says-super-nerds-are-killing-baseball-its-a-joke.amp.html
  20. Either way, this is truly the most historic Red Sox year .... perhaps in history. The MOST quiet historic run I can ever remember. ....
  21. St this point, I DON'T want the Sox focused on records, & I don't see Cora falling into that trap. He will risk NOTHING in getting to the WS, then let the resting dogs of summer loose. Then, & only then, will he go for it all.
  22. This team is taking on the THING of legends.....
  23. That is an ALL-STAR lineup! Wish it was these 3 every game!
