  1. Exactly, it's offensive that players and specially coaches can not make enough to support their families and the worst player in the ML can live a more than adequate life, not counting the superstars which can make in one day what most of us won't make in a year
  2. More injuries than 2019? I don't think so. I get the under performing could happen, but this team is built to overcome a few players with bad numbers and still be OK
  3. Damn, that's a lot of money. I'm afraid we will have the same decision the Sox are facing with Betts in a few years, let Judge walk or resign him. I know Tanaka, Ellsbury and Happ salaries will be gone by that time, but Torres, Sanchez, Judge and some other will command some serious money
  4. unofficially 1yr/14millions
  5. Didi to Philly Terms not announced yet I wish the best for him
  6. what will be your opinion if we let him go?
  7. No matter what the yankees do with Cole they will come with a HUGE amount of crititcs 1. If they get Cole at a record setting deal - detractors will say that they are trying to buy a championship and that Cashman is a fool because the deal will cripple the team in a few years 2. If they don't get him - they will accuse the yankees of being cheap and not willing to go the extra mile to get number 28 Catch-22 all over
  8. I want Cole, but not at that price, too much for pitcher
  9. I'm pretty sure he will get more than that, based on Stras deal, Cole will be approaching the 300Millions mark
  10. Damn I can't imagine how much money Cole it's going to get
  11. I think this is a good idea, but in order to have the other team to agree to those trades the Sox might need to add some other pieces
  12. I like this, both are pretty even in the prior 3 years. But no matter what Boras will try to get a couple opt-outs after the 2nd or 3rd years and make it front loaded, lets say an AAV for the first 2 or 3 years of 40 Millions and try to test the market again at 31 or 32 if the performance goes as planned. I'd love a deal like this for the Yankees, the added years to the initial contract is what kills the team (Sabathia), the first contract was like 6/161 after the opt-out the Yankees added three more years and those were the ones which killed the team. The deal will be something around 8 years for 270-280 Million, making the last year a mutual option.
  13. Cole is the better pitcher for sure no argument here. I'm just saying that we need a horse to carry us all the way to a WS ring, bith can be that guy, but cost-benefit I like Bumgarner better, besides Cole depends a lot on his FB and no matter the deal it will get down in a couple years, that deal will be an albatross after the third or fourth year. Bumgarner won't be cheap, but it will be a shorter deal
  14. To be honest I'd like to have Bumgarner better, we'll be in the playoffs for sure, what we need is a pitcher who can lead us to the WS, I believe Bumgarner is the guy For me Cole was the best pitcher of 2019, but he was with the Astros and who knows what the hell they are doing to transform the pitchers they get, with the Pirates he was good, but not this good. If they are cheating with the signals they might be doing something with the pitchers. I won't be upset if we get Cole, but he's not my first or second choice (I like Stras over him too)
  15. Let's hope it's not just a PR strategy to keep fans engaged. If they really want him, they will get him. There's no team in the league who can beat the Yankees in a bidding war. Still have my doubts Hal will spend the money required to sign him
  16. Most trades between Mats and Yankees are only for minor pieces, no way the Mets trade Noah (or a big name player) without a massive overpay from the Yankees, Cashman will never do that
  17. The Mets will never do a trade like this with the Yankees, they could do an even worse trade but never with the Yankees
  18. I agree with you on the salary, but I'm sure Romine is looking for a starting job. The angels could be a good fit for him
  19. The question is: which team is looking for a starting catcher? if so, do they have the financial flexibility to land him? So far the Rays and the Pirates are looking for a starting catcher and none of them have a lot of money to spend in that position
  20. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/12/red-sox-tender-jackie-bradley-trade-rumors-dbacks.html It looks like the Red Sox will retain JBJ, at least for now
  21. The problem with Loaisiga is that he has a very fragile frame he can't stay healthy, they can convert him full time to a RP and hope his body holds up the work load there
  22. I'm with you in this approach, if the Sox send more money to Seattle in year 2 and 3 they can make it work for both teams, talking about Chavis it all depends on what the other team thinks about him.
  23. I can see the 2nd trade happening, as far as I know SD doesn't have luxury tax concerns, if the Sox add more money it might work, probably $15M (3 x $5M). SD is a small market team, $10M more in salary for only one player could be a deal breaker for them. The 1st proposal it's one sided in the Sox favor (no matter what the trade values site say), the Mariners will be taking on $45M ($51M - $6M) against $14.5M
  24. Greg Bird clears waivers is officially a FA
  25. The Padres sold low on Urias, he is a very good player who didn't have good luck the first time in the majors, they probably saw something on him and decided to sold now before it loses all the value In baseball trade values it gives: Brewers Lauer SP 16.5 Urias 2B 55.2 Total 71.7 Padres Davies SP 0.8 Grisham OF 8.8 Total 9.6 I know those values are for reference only but it looks very stupid for the Padres
