    He's playing catch they already said they are taking it slow with him. No need to rush.

    I agree with you it does suck, rather have Hernandez then Rutledge, but I understand they have to preserve depth. The only thing I wonder how hard would it be to get a player like Rutledge if one is needed, shouldn't be to hard.

    You asked why they granted him free agency. They removed him from 60 day disabled list in early November and did not add him to the 40, which made him a free agent. They traded Shaw and Moncada in December. In beginning of Nov. they weren't going to waste a spot on the 40 when they had so much depth.

    With Swihart and Vazquez it is about potential.

    I love Vazquez's glove off the bench. Eventually can see Swihart 5 days a week and Vazquez 2.

    I like the lineup depth we will have at Pawtucket, imagine it would include Swihart, Travis, Hernandez and Selsky.

    Yes that was definitely a misguided decision.

    Actually he probably wouldn't be on the opening day roster because he has options and they want to keep the depth. His defense is not on par with those two, but would bet he would be a starter for a lot of teams.

    Where did you get that from, heard they were very happy with his defense this spring.

    If he planned on using Holt there my guess is he would have seen action there this spring. The other alternative is Seskey, which leaves Holt as the only backup at 2nd short and 3rd.

    That is correct a portion will count against the tax.

    The reason why he played Rutledge at first is he will probably play there against lefties until Hanley is ready. I am pretty sure Holt has not played 1st this spring.

    They are stuck in limbo if we trade them and eat part of that contract, the part we eat will count on the luxury tax.

    I'm not sure why they haven't given reps at first for Chris Young.

    Vazquez having himself a day now hits a three run homer.

    Vazquez picked off a runner at second today and caught another stealing third. Has thrown out 5 of 6 runners this spring, I would say his arm strength is fully back.

    2 at bats today single and double. I'm getting more and more optimistic.

    You are right but I love his bat compared to Leon and Vazquez.

    Hoping that Bogey has a little chip on his shoulders batting six and has a real breakout year.

    They have said his defense has been better this spring.

    I'm pretty sure they will start with Leon and Vazquez. If they don't hit and Swiharts defense keeps improving they will make a quick switch.
