    Steve Selsky wins last roster spot. Imagine they picked him over Hernandez because of ability to play first.

    Sox just sent Callahan, Maddux and Sheperd to the minors, so it looks like Ben Taylor made the team and will get that 40 man spot.

    I'm going to guess its a minor league reliever like Callahan or Taylor. Should have a second spot open up with Carson Smith not expected back until June they will probably put him on 60 day dl.

    It all depends on the health of the team, even with the current injuries to Price, Pom and Thornburg I still think they are over a 90 win team even if they linger all season (which I don't believe). But further injuries would really kill the depth of the team. Even without Price I would put our top 4 starters against almost any teams top 4.

    Good explanation I was just kidding around. I agree with you that Hernandez should be the better version of Holt, just to bad he can't play the outfield.

    I agree only way Kendrick is going to make that start is if they believe Pom and Price are going to be out an extended period.;

    Holts value is that he can play every position but catcher and pitcher at an acceptable level. That is extremely valuable to a team.

    If it's Selsky we have our platoon partner for Moreland, but that only leaves Holt who can backup 2nd, short and third. If we keep,Hernandez our only backup first basemen is Holt, not ideal. Best case is Hanley is able to play 1st and we keep Hernandez.

    He is still only 18 until August, I'm going to guess there will be some uptick with his velocity.

    I think they can hold the fort for a month, they all have above average stuff. Farrell has to manage them correctly.

    i must be juvenile then, oh well. Thornburg will be out for about a month and Smith should be back in June, they have control over both pitchers for years, would not call that going up in flames.

    Last year Kelly missed a month and Tazaw 18 days with the same injury. Sucks but will be back.

    He will be back in a few weeks to early to call Elias a dud. Had a bad year last year, but prior to that had been a serviceable 5th starter.

    I rather listen to the scouts and Gms who have been trying to trade for him.

    We still have 4 years of control on Carson Smith.
