  1. lots of angles shown where tag wasn't seen but 1 where maybe the catcher caught the runners sleave. That wouldn't be called conclusive IMO.
  2. Geesus, every team should have a relieve pitcher or 2 that can at least throw strikes. Frustrating
  3. just 1 more than everyone else
  4. Just noticed the MLB forum was shut down too. it was really nice of MLB to not inform everyone and give them a little notice. I see one person (jung) over here.
  5. Yesterday was an ugly game. Finally some excitement when we went ahead. I'll have to opt out today as my granddaughter has a track meet. Sunday should be a really nice day for a ballgame. Suppose to be almost 80 here in Michigan.
  6. Ordered tickets for first 4 Tigers games..Not often I get to see Red Sox this early. 48 min trip to Tigers field..
  7. He sent his best two pitchers out there and we didn't get enough runs to support them or they allowed to many. Maybe both happened. The Red Sox were on a really hot streak and they cooled off at the wrong time/
  8. The more big name players move from team to team the more interest i lose in baseball. I'm form the era when teams developed guys in the farm system and moved them up. this crap of buying teams like the NYY always did is a big turn off. But if you want to win that's what you have to do
  9. Tagging a guy out at home is not a sure deal. It is an instant reaction and outs are always important too.
  10. Not much to ague with there. Price wasn't paid millions to go 15-10
  11. The batting order is fine. Pitching seems to be the problem when scrub teams averaging 3-4 runs a game score 6-10 against us.
  12. And Pomeranz' shouldn't be intimidated going up against Verlander. he has only been average this year.
  13. When my high school age grandson struggles with his batting i send him some Manny videos i have stored.
  14. I actually forgot the game was on. I even saw a blip in the paper about a home run derby and did't put the two together... Other than the Sox i've pretty well lost all interest in baseball. And i even dropped the Fox sports package and no longer pick up NESN..
  15. If Buchholz can't win a game before the All-Star break the Sox have a big decision to make. They can't keep rolling him out there.
  16. Not getting any breaks from any of umps tonight.
  17. I'd rather not make the playoffs this year than trade young talent for another starting pitcher that may last for 2 years and take all the money. Be patient..
  18. This home stand may be what makes or breaks the team. I'm going to the games in Detroit Aug.18-21. I hope i'm not embarrassed wearing my Red Sox tees... Of course the Tigers are pretty well sucking too.
  19. That's why the guy is managing a 10U team and not the bigs.
  20. Papi means more with these guys than just someone who can drive in runs.
  21. A missed called just because it was a missed call doesn't bother me to much...It's the umps that are going to show you who is in control that have to be kicked in the a$$..Like the 3rd stike on Papi that was almost in the dirt after he bitched about the previous pitch.
  22. it was in Cleveland playing the Red Sox. It was Boy Scout day with some kind of a parade we marched in heading into the stadium. I'm not big on dates but it had to be around 1953.
  23. So you let them go. Good umpires are in pretty short supply. All the way down to the high school level where there aren't even enough umpires. Michigan HS for example is short about 1800 umps. So its pretty common to see some really bad ones, some because they are just bad and some because they are pr!cks. But out of the thousands of umps you'd think MLB could find the best ones.
  24. I hear all of you on bad ump's. They are at all levels. They think they are the game and they are going to call it their way and you can go eff off. The players have a bat, use it. If you stand there and wait for your pitch to maximize your potential against one of those clowns, they'll get you and feel good about it.
  25. There have been so many great athletes perform in Boston. It's hard to pick just one but Big Papi belongs right up there with Williams, Russell, Orr and a few others. I've been a fan since mid 50's..
