I'm undefeated on first game threads (after someone else's loss). The last time was my first one and done- that debacle, rain-shortended game in NY. -

I'd love to win it all this year, but to me, you only trade away some of the most promising future when the timing is just right. I don't think this is the time. I think we'll be better in the next year or two, and that should be the time we think about sacrificing some of the future for "lightening." I think we can make a couple lesser but impactful deals, this summer that keep us under the tax line while keeping the future team intact.

Nobody thought trading for Eovaldi or Pearce was going to be a big difference maker.

If we can keep Arroyo healthy, and Duran does well, we may not need any help on offense. Arroyo has a .792 OPS. Whatever Duran ends up having, the two of these guys should do better than this: PA Player OPS 246 Marwin .583 109 Santana .575 102 Cordero .501 64 Chavis .530 That's over 500 PAs of some very bad offense. Where might we see a shift in the IP distribution, going forward? 358 PAs just doesn't mean all that much, to me. My issue with Gallo is the up and down not the mean. .312 .389 .301 .391 That and the cost needed to get him. If the guy had a .391 OBP over the past 2-4 years, I'm interested.

I disagree. I still think Houston looks better on paper, and they will likely make a trade or two as well. The Dodgers are way better. That being said, it's what we'd have to give back is the big "no" for me, and if we give up that much, I want pitching.

.682 on the road still beats Bobby Dee, and Cron has had some good seasons, recently. .894 in '20 DET .780 in '19 MN .816 in '18 TB .808 from '18-'21. Why focus on just his away numbers in 2021 for just over a half season? He's averaged 34 HRs per 650 PAs in that period.

I was going to say, I thought I heard they planned on starting Houck against Toronto, when they called him up. Are they just giving every starter and extra day's rest?

Groome is rated higher than Ward on BTV 4.3 to 3.8.

5 total might be 1 or 2 too many. He can get a couple relief outing in the bigs before starting a game- in a sense getting 2 rehab outings in the bigs before starting. I can't imagine him being worse than 2-3 guys we have in the pen, right now.

That's why I'd trade him over Groome, but I guess mvp thinks otherwise.
