  1. Season Sox OPS Against (May OPS Against) SP .634 Pivetta (.662) .647 Eovaldi (.647) .674 Perez (.595) .748 Richards (.722) .802 ERod (.951) RP .371 Barnes (.410) .400 Valdez (.451) .603 Ottavino (.600) .654 Whitlock (1.063) .689 DHern (.541) .789 Taylor (.259) .806 Houck (n/a) .839 Sawamura (.913) .867 Brice (.984) .917 Andriese (1.268)
  2. Updated Sox OPS 1.015 JD 1.000 Santana .992 Bogey .945 Devers .823 Verdugo .806 Chavis .775 Arauz .776 Plawecki .757 Hernandez .710 Arroyo .696 Vaz .631 Renfroe .572 Gonzalez .462 Cordero Some small sample sizes, here, but it's nice seeing some names close to our top 4 hitters and others moving up from the 400's, 500's and 600's to 600's and 700's. Here were the numbers on April 30: 1.175 JD .958 Devers .915 Bogey .863 Verdugo .763 Arroyo .671 Kike .638 Vaz .619 Dalbec .589 Marwin .485 Renfroe .471 Plawecki .452 Cordero
  3. They were there, last winter, too. We got Brice based on spin rate, right?
  4. 8 AL Teams within 3.5 Games --- BOS .5 CWS 1.0 HOU 1.0 TBR 1.5 NYY 1.5 OAK 1.5 TBR 3.0 CLE 3.5 TOR (SEA & KC are within 5 games of the WC slot.)
  5. Perez has had a few tough luck losses, so it's nice to see the team have his back, tonight. Rays hit a slam in the 11th, so we're up 1 on the Rays, 1.5 on the Yanks and now 3.5 on the Jays, after it looked like they were one of the hottest teams. The Rays always surprise, but I still worry more about NY & Tor.
  6. That's the best "bad news" of the year.
  7. All over the map on Monty. Gotta admit your pitching has been top notch.
  8. Maybe, but that's just my idea- most likely not Blooms. Maybe 2 go for one player and one for another at the deadline.
  9. Having 4 great hitters is more than almost every other team has, but what I like about ours is they all have wildly different approaches. We can hit any pitcher.
  10. I'd like to see Marwin start hitting better.
  11. Did Vaz just call his own pitch?
  12. Perez, now going through 3rd time.
  13. HRs: Santana 1 in 3 PAs. Cordero 0 in 95 PAs.
  14. Nice to know either Toronto or TB will lose tonight, but one has to win, too. We have to keep winning!
  15. Let's get this party started!
  16. It makes sense to give Chavis a long look and Cordero time to work on the holes in his swing.
  17. So we finally DFA'd Brice. Santana's addition now gives us 13 every day and 13 pitchers. Is this the first time we only had 13 pitchers, this season? Who goes down when Arroyo comes to town? Chavis, Cordero or ____?
  18. 1. Santana 1B 2. Verdugo CF 3. JD LF 4. Bogey SS 5. Devers 3B 6. Vaz C 7. Renfroe RF 8. Marwin 2B 9. Perez P
  19. Or, involve major future expenditures or radically change the make-up of the team or finances.
  20. I'm not happy at all. I never wish an injury on anyone. I do think it is fair to point out how injury prone the Yanks have been over the past few seasons, and how they have become predictable, hence the "dominoes" comment as more are almost certain to follow. BTW, jacko is constantly riding Eovaldi's pending IL stint, projecting the worst recovery possible for Sale and on and on.
  21. I wouldn't bet against that, but I think Cordero needs to be demoted with the idea he might be back, once he works things out. Santana is hot and just about ready. Let's see what he can do, while letting Cordero work on some kinks.
