    What the hell is going on with our luck? Zack Littell goes 8 IP for the Rays allowing 5 hits and just 1 run (1BB & 4K!) Luis Castillo out-dueled him and SEA won 1-0. The Tigers are up 10-3, late on the Yanks, for all those who felt they are better than us. (They may still prove to be.)

    I debated flipping Teel & Anthony. I had a hard time figuring Bleis, Romero and Drohan.

    I think the idea was try Kike for 4-6 weeks, and if he was not working out, Mondesi would be ready to carry us to Story. The whole plan fell apart when Kike imploded from opening day on.

    We did end up needing a SS who could play D. If Mondesi's knee healed in the normal time, he'd have been useful. How is that curious? Yes, both Mondesi and Story were out to start the year, but Mondesi was thought to be possibly ready by May. Kluber was well rested, after missing years of work.

    There are posters who have mentioned trading Dugo for equal return, perhaps at another position of higher need or maybe a RH'd OF bat. Dumping a very good player is not what anyone has suggested. He's also had some, let's call them, "attitude incidents." He's a good RF'er on D. He's a good hitter vs RHPs. He's got one year of control left. He has real value to us and to other teams.

    I just made a list of all Sox players with 300+ PAs and their OPS. You chose to compare him to the 2Bman. Someone else compared him to our SS. You do what you want and want to view as relevant.

    Got it. I misread what you wrote. I think some team might give us a single A prospect for a chance on Bobby Dee, but only if they have 40 man roster room and need a DH.

    With just about no 1B depth, if JT leaves, we may hold a 40 slot for Dalbec, but I'd trade him for a non 40 man roster crapshoot guy. DFA him, if nobody wants him, but I think you are selling him short. Mata may not fit into anyone's 40 man roster, so if we can't trade him, we'll have to keep him on the 40 or try to sneak him through waivers and hope he signs a minor league deal with us, I guess. I'm tired of keeping injury guys on our 40, so it's time to clean some up.

    Max, the evidence is there for you to see. It's there when you watch the games. It's not futile to want to discuss an aspect of the game that has cost us at least 5 games, when we are 5 games from the playoffs. Just because you don't want to hear about it does not make it futile, and again- NOBODY is saying pitching and hitting matter less, yet you keep saying the same thing over and over- like we disagree. BTW, not a single poster wants to "dump" Verdugo. Not one.

    It's not being an optimist to show facts that indicate we have been near 2-6 games over .500 than +2 to -2 around it. That's who we have been. Where we think we end up has to do with optimism or pessimism.

    Rosier turns 24, today. His .799 OPS is not eye-popping, but it's improved as he's moved up levels. He's also been on base about 140 times and has 49 SBs. He has as good a chance at making a ML impact as Groome does with his 8.63 ERA. Who is the delusional one, here?

    That goes without saying. Saying only two per year could prove to be an overstatement, too.

    You can't read. I have Renfroe listed as a head scratching bad trade. AB did not do all that well after the trade and is not good, now. I said "you can call it a loss or incomplete." Rosier is a better prospect than Groom, right now, but call that one minor or a push- fine. Try getting your reading comprehension and facts in check, first,

    Exactly. A point, no matter how many times repeated, is not understood by a select few posters, here. Also, the hit rate on drafting everyday players vs pitchers on any picks outside the top 10.
