  1. It's amazing how many of your posts are about posters not the Red Sox, and none are insightful, including your repeating "17000 posts" over and over. Looks like projection to me.
  2. Have I claimed he was fired for another reason? I've been wrong on many things- some about Bloom, but you are inventing a disagreement that is not there. BTW, he wasn't fired last year over W-L, so were you right or wrong, last winter? Just curious.
  3. It always has been, for you from day one- before you even knew him. If you don't think the budget had anything to do with trading Betts with half-Price and not replacing their money plus Porcello's $20+M, that's your right, but I will continue to diagree. This past winter, Bloom had enough to sign some SP'ers. He did not. Like I said, there is plenty to blame Chaim for without needing to invent more.
  4. The budget restrictions were a major reason we did not with in 2020 and could have been in 2021, too. I have said that from the Story signing onwards, it was not an excuse. I have said the Sale contract was no longer an excuse for Bloom, as he was the only dead weight still carried over from DD. I said last winter was "make or break" for Bloom, because he had a big budget. You don't listen, or hear what you want to hear. Bloom focused his budget on the wrong area, last winter. That could be a major reason he is gone. Hit turned out it was his "make or break" winter, but you interpret that as me being wrong, somehow.
  5. I said it seemed like the plan was to make the future the top priority. I was "wrong all along?" Because the fired Bloom? No trades of any prospects higher than Aldo Ramirez in 4 years (actually 4 +_ 1 yr under DD, too= 5.) Watching our spending ranking fall from top 2-3 almost every year- even reset years to below 10. You think this proves JH & Co. valued winning now more? Please explain. Maybe, like Ben, they feel the rebuild is complete, and that's what they were hired to do, and now they will choose someone they think is better qualified for the major shift in philosophy that is to come. (Like DD over Ben.) Firing Bloom does not show the priority was always win now. It's what you thought it should be, but even you argued that we weren't trying to do that. You chose to think it was Bloom who convinced JH to not want to win now and build for the futre.. I saw it as an organization philosophy that started in 2019..
  6. Many feel the Betts trade was forced. The Beni trade is still an incomplete grade, and if you figure the money saved brought us Renfroe, one could say that move was okay. Letting JBJ go was great. (Bringing him back sucked.) Letting Bogey and JD go, when their production had slipped for 2 years may prove to be a good idea. We offered Nate a QO and a contract bigger than what he took from Tex. When you are handed pennies for a budget, you end up with gobbledeegoop.
  7. Maybe. It would not surprise me, but if the next guy is given the same budgets and priorities, there could be very little noticeable changes. The next guy might have a favorite manager who is not named Cora, too.
  8. Your insightfulness is overwhelming, at times.
  9. Let the corner rejoice!
  10. All of them? or, enough to make the call?
  11. There will be debates, but this whole idea that there has been a legion of Bloom lovers is totally unfounded. A few have defended him in some areas and have been called "apologists" or "supporters" for doing so, but I doubt anyone will bend over backwards to defend Bloom. Now, if the next GM trades a bunch of his prospects or they become studs under the next GM and it lead to a ring or some sort of oter glory, then some will claim Bloom deserves major credit- kinda like what happened with Ben & DD, but I'm not sure sure about blood letting. (It doesn't take much on this site, so maybe I'm wrong.)
  12. You do your part on this, but of course, that's just my tainted perception.
  13. I know your posts lack it.
  14. If it is Theo, I'd be thrilled!
  15. Wow! The talk shows and over half this board must be euphoric! (I'm fine with the choice. I'm curious who the next guy is.)
  16. You need two catchers, so to me catcher depth is really about a third one. I should have said that. Our MI depth was exposed, this year, and next year we have no Kike. Yang might stick around, but DHam is not good depth and mayer is too far away. Yes, rafaela and Abreu are not "proven," but to me, they look like better depth than DHam, Yang, Dalbec and Caleb hamilton. We are close to having Tell and mayer and maybe Yorke ML ready, but they are not for the start of 2024. OF: Dugo, Duran, Yoshi, Ref, Rafaela, Abreu (Rosier/Reyes) MI: Story (healthy?), Urias, Reyes, DHam, EValdez (DH material) 1B: Casas, Dalbec (no Turner) 3B: Devers, Urias Am I missing anyone better than Ref, Rafaela and Abreu who is ML ready? Are DHam, EValdez, Caleb Hamilton and Dalbec better depth than Rafaela and Abreu (and maybe Rosier?) I repsect your opinions, but feel we need to just agree to disagree on this and move on.
  17. I have gotten testy, many times. I have said some things I should not have said, and try to apologize when I go too far. I'm not perfect. I know this and try to improve myself. Admitting mistakes is something few do or even try to do. I think they feel it is a sign of weakness.
  18. I know I have issues with several posters, just as several do with you. I don't need your advice, and I don't need Elk telling me my thoughts and making false assumptions. It's an all too common happening, here. Someone says, "Maybe we should trade Houck." Another poster says, "So you want to dump Houck," or "You want our staff to suck!" I notice when they misrepresent your view, you don't remain silent.
  19. We have Rafaela and Abreu here, now. You can't get "closer" than that. Rosier may be ML ready, too. Reyes can play OF. Ref is depth. Yoshida will be depth. It's not great depth. It's not a lock on talent in the OF, but if we have to trade a regular, do you prefer a catcher or MI'er? I'm talking 2024 and not about Teel, mayer and Anthony. I'd prefer we don't trade any OF'ers and keep the depth, but if we have to trade someone to upgrade the rotation, what ML'er do you add to the package? (Not someone with negative value.)
  20. Deeper than C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B and the rotation.
  21. Like all your insightful posts, like this one.
  22. Your points are valid, but to me, our OF is deeper than C, 1B, MI and 3B. If we are going to make a trade, would you prefer we trade Casas, Wong, Devers, Urias or Reyes? Wouldn't a bigger hole be created there than by trading Dugo, ref or Duran? It's all relative.
  23. So, someone hacked your account when this appeared under your name: The fact that you buy that horseshit excuse shows just how obtuse you are!
  24. The thing is, our fans can't or won't tolerate even a .500 team for 4+ years, and .500 teams don't get top 5 draft picks. Top spending teams get penalized on comp picks, too. We need to figure out a way to build up the farm and roster under these tougher rules. It's not easy. I think Bloom has made a decent attempt at it, but our W-L results have angered the fan base to the point (or past the point for many) where they just don't care about "plans" and "prospects." It's understandable. HOU fans were not happy during the tank years, but they did believe management when they told them, "the day was coming," when spending and a commitment to winning was in the future. That kind of talk, in BOS is blasphemy and prohibited, so they lie and pretend, and play things half way, which only makes the rebuild harder, while not making fans less angry, either.
