  1. ultimately it's Harness' decision on what suit to wear to his sister-in-laws wedding but i bet it's the one Mrs. Harness tells him to wear.....
  2. who said any of that?
  3. people often forget that many times ownership thinks about the business side of signing a player to a contract first and foremost. not just the baseball aspect. panda jerseys, tshirts, hats, merch was a YUUUUGE seller in SF. until The Butterball proved to be an east coast disaster there was no reason for ownership to think Panda merch wouldnt be flying off the shelves..... it's the same reason we drove a brinks truck to Dice-K and the Japanese Market.....
  4. i can guarantee you that if/when price isnt even starting at year 3.5 of his 7 year contract i wont be on a yankees forum website waxing how it was a good signing/great contract because he was the bridge to groome.......but thats just me.
  5. definitely will happen > might happen > chances are slim > automatically dismissed
  6. i never said any of that stuff. i simply was pointing out the fact that the chances are slim that either of the Boras clients sign a LTC prior to FA.....
  7. that's why i said "pressuring". and he's the best at it.
  8. Boras is notorious for pressuring his clients to wait for FA.....
  9. he's latino.
  10. it should be a discussion going on within the FO.
  11. 100%. having both in the lineup is apples to orange to PHing for the catcher.
  12. i thought he was going to do better in boston than his numbers in SF.
  13. 16k+ posts. how many have been insults to other posters? how many have been to take an opposing side just because? how many have been independent thoughts on the red sox without trying to be a richard? my guess would be: high %, high %, low %.....
  14. so here we are with the BDC vs us mentality again? i thought youk put an end to that. i see alot of "opinions" being put out there on this fourm. by all talksox posters - whether they have been here 10 years or 10 minutes. it is your opinion that only "real talksox" members post their opinion unconditionally?
  15. yes, the big FA 3rd basemen were panda and headley. many wanted headley. i was happy with the panda signing. i thought he was going to be a star in boston. a fan favorite with thousands of kids wearing panda hats to games nightly.....that window is just about shut.
  16. hey lefty. i have tried to defend some of JF's moves but yesterday using Taz was IMO a terrible baseball decision. again IMO there is no defense for it. does anyone in the boston area know if the media questioned JF on that decision and what his response was?
  17. i dont think the choice would have been to pinch run with a reliever as we needed the arms. that left the only options of SP or simply leave papi in. based on what happened the manager made the incorrect decision. or maybe, had he left papi in (which is what i would have done in that situation) papi would have broken his leg on the play never to play professional baseball again. we will never know unless we figure out how to bend time...... one thing we do know for certain now - wright is not an athlete.....
  18. so you think he was worth the $17MM per year for the first 2.5 years of the 5 year contract. and apparently fangraphs does too. i dont. again, which is my opinion. i think the mccann signing is a bust. if it was a 2.5 year contract i would just have called it an overpay. but since it's a 5 year guaranteed contract i call it a bust. ima hold onto the mic.......
  19. all seems 100% reasonable doji. i think the problem many of us had with the Espi trade was that he was the first pitcher we have had in our system in a long long time with such a high ceiling. he wasnt perceived as a future backup infielder.
  20. Game 120 - JBj JBj: 0-4 / GIDP JE: DNP JBj: 67 JE: 39 Tie: 15
  21. Great streak 13station! You should still be alive but Tarawa was used in a close game. That is on Farrell and on Tarawa for sucking so much. As stated earlier but worth repeating....EXCELLENT start by no sleep clay. Deserved a better fate (W) We need a w to orrow
  22. well...when we all saw the lineup we kind of figured runs were going to be hard to come by today....
