  1. what are your thoughts on batting a sub 300 OBP guy in the leadoff spot?
  2. Mr Tingles vs The King starting this thread early today because it's 2 first place teams going head-to-head for AL bragging rights so let the fun begin. West coast trips always seem to be bad mojo. hopefully we can build off of sweeping the hapless Showalters and give the middle finger to jet lag. Offense has been Meh lately but Betts is back. Starting pitching & RP has been awesome lately. Cheater Cano (a true Yankee) is on Timeout. 10pm starts are rough the next morning so make sure you set your coffee to "strong" tomorrow.... just cause: EFF showalter x 4
  3. i agree with you 100%. it seems i am the only one posting the errors as i see them and that has only been..what? maybe 6 or 7 instances that i have pointed out in all the games played so far. and with many of them we still had a positive outcome (W) so it is easy to sweep them under the proverbial rug.
  4. His first one was a cheapie. That 2nd one was a BOMB
  5. Max - you don’t believe Cora has made any managerial mistakes this season??? You realize that is .... how did you put it? Laughable
  6. Maybe harmony is right and teams are worried about that option. Could be language in that contract we don’t know about.
  7. now dave obrien can continue over and over ad naseum how mookie owns the orioles...
  8. if your gonna drill someone...drill them. shouldnt need to go to review for that.....WEAK!
  9. true. Kelly was used the past 2 nights but only for 4 pitches / 1 out last night. barnes threw 1 inning (25 pitches) last night so i guess either would be our closer today? i would still have preferred johnson or hembree pitch the 9th last night with a 4 run lead and have a fresh craig kimbrel perched in the pen for this afternoons tilt.
  10. TalkSox Poster Robots Now!
  11. Cora playing seesaw with Rafi. Sandy catching Sale.
  12. Mookie Betts, RF Andrew Benintendi, LF Xander Bogaerts, SS J.D. Martinez, DH Rafael Devers, 3B Eduardo Nunez, 2B Brock Holt, 1B Sandy Leon, C Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  13. It's a Sale day. 3 pm start. start drinking boys.... that means 2 or 3 runs of support. unless we can pummell this spot starter. Sale v Ramirez. guess Hanley is pitching now? EFF Showalter x 3
  14. lol. that sounds great to me! unfortunately it always seems like whenever Sale pitches we are in a 1-0 or 2-1 ballgame......which is always a great time to have your lights out 9th inning closer available.
  15. nope, you are correct. and that is the problem with our team right now. we have NO starting secondbaseman. and this is why i posted in another thread that DD needs to go out and get one.
  16. i would like to see that stats of a manager using a closer the day after throwing 30+ pitches with a 4 run lead vs a lower tier offense in a mid june game.
  17. your right never is too strong. but i will still say it made zero sense to start nunez 2 nights ago and have holt on the bench.
  18. still with the offense.....he should never play a negative dwar infielder with a groundball knuckler on the mound.
  19. the local drug dealers are licking their chops......
  20. yup. but this goes back to my original observation/problem: i dont think nunie is the answer this season for fulltime 2b for a championship run. i believe he is still injured.
  21. Cora doesnt think so. otherwise he would have started Holt at 2b 2 nights ago vs the righty?
  22. meh. Erod went 5.2. kelly got us thru 7. Barnes pitched the 8th. pretty sure we could have tried someone not named kimbrel for the 9th with a 4 run lead. i would understand it if he hadnt pitched in awhile and needed to get some work in. but he threw 30+ pitches the night before. negligent managing.
  23. June 12th Bringing Kimbrel into the game with a 4 run lead the night after he threw 30+ pitches is borderline negligent by Rookie Manager Cora. with the 25+ bullets he used up in this non save situation we can now consider him a spectator for tonight's game when we very well could need him to protect a 1 run lead. I believe J Kelly was also used the past 2 nights so not sure who will close tonight? with a 4 run lead against the vaunted orioles lineup...terrible 9th inning decision making by our rookie manager.
