  1. Verdugo, JDM, and Bogie in the 9th. Diekman is not the A's closer, so I guess he is in to get Verdugo. No?
  2. Two K's and a single off the splitter.
  3. But not up in the zone.
  4. Like that splitter.
  5. Has Chavis lost weight?
  6. One more time. I'm not saying Bassitt is a great pitcher all the time, just that he was great tonight. He had 10 K's and no walks. But those two WP's in the first cost him a run.
  7. That's actually not true on talksox. Just read this thread about how horrible our hitting is.
  8. Ok, I'll buy that.
  9. What a crock. Everybody has ups and downs. Dalbec had a huge 3 run dinger and 1 or 2 other hits the other night and is still below the mendoza line. Tonight Bassitt was terrific. He had good stuff, hit his spots, and had a catcher who knew what to call for.
  10. You get the award for someone on talksox finally recognizing a good game, the Sox bullpen notwithstanding.
  11. I continue to be amazed at talksox fans refusal to give any credit to the opposing team. Bassitt pitched great tonight, and, going in, the A's were 21-15. The Sox hitting is the best in MLB, and absolutely no one gives Bassitt any credit for holding them to 2 runs. Instead, the hitting stinks, except for Devers, who struck out badly before the dinger.
  12. Yankees and Mets both have lower walk rates than the A's, your tv screen notwithstanding.
  13. The pen was pretty darn good earlier, but not lately.
  14. And of course the opposing pitching has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the Sox are hitting. Lopez was excellent last night, and Bassitt has been even better tonight. He's made Devers look silly on both K's.
  15. The Sox offense is good enough to lead MLB in runs and OPS, but the pitching by Bassitt has been amazing.
  16. Hung that slider up.
  17. Nice play. I don't think the A's runner had much choice but to go home.
  18. And that sure looks like the old ball game.
  19. Former English P: who works fine and certainly sounds better.
  20. Love those walks. Not.
  21. Bassitt should go at least one more inning, but the Sox have to go with the bullpen.
  22. It's the highest scoring offense in MLB with the highest OPS. Go sell "tough" elsewhere. The problem isn't with the lineup. It's with Bassitt, or hadn't you noticed?
  23. He absolutely did.
  24. Great play, great inning for Eovaldi. Wild applause for gutsy play!!! After that, the Sox absolutely have to win this game. Way to go Eovaldi!!!
