  1. This time, I absolutely have to give credit to Vazquez for calling for those six changeups, which clearly led to the GIDP.
  2. Bottom of the 10th, up by 2, and Valdez on the mound. Another Red Sox nail-biter.
  3. Nice bunt by Arroyo. I think moonslav would have him leading off, and I am inclined to agree.
  4. The Yankees definitely have a gripe, but they are now just acting like jerks. I wear hearing aides and have sort of learned to read lips, and that one guy was saying F---You to one of the umps.
  5. Actually, your point is better than mine.
  6. A gift from the home plate ump. Thank you.
  7. No way, no how would I have stuck with Workman, at least not this year's version. He gave up a dinger in his previous outing and is far from trustworthy.
  8. Barnes is beyond question the best reliever we've got and one of the best in MLB. But he isn't invincible. Somehow, the combo of him, Vazquez, Cora, and the pitching coach encouraged/allowed Barnes to get away from the approach--mixing the knuckle curve with the fastball--which is pretty hard to beat.
  9. Two mistakes this inning. First a walk to Judge, then several knuckle curves right in the middle of the zone to Torres. Neither the knuckle curve nor the fastball works by itself. You gotta mix them and, you know, if possible, keep them away from the freaking dead center of the strike zone.
  10. Why would Chapman screw around with a slider when he's got that fastball and splitter?
  11. Combined with his 99 mph fastball, that splitter is a killer for Chapman.
  12. And you would be wrong. But that's about par for you, no?
  13. ESPN says this would be the first Sox sweep at Yankee Stadium since 2011. 10 years ago???!!!!!!! Great K by Taylor! And another great K!
  14. Don't say that stuff on a Yankees blog site or moonslav will go after you for excessive negativity. On talksox, our philosophy is sweetness and light and nothing but.
  15. Now that was solid MLB stuff. Two straight at bats that moved the runner from 2d to 3d and 3d to home for 1 run lead. But still 6 outs to go for the Yankees hitters.
  16. Two excellent pitches by Peralta. 0-2.
  17. Professional at bat by Verdugo with Bogie coming to bat.
  18. Now that's a hitter!! Santana, take note. It's not how hard you hit it, but where you hit it that counts. Plus the hustle to 2B.
  19. Don't need a Betts, per se. Betts was gone no matter what--overpriced.
  20. Just who are you calling *******? Ottavino has done well for the Sox so far, and he certainly did this inning.
  21. All 80mph sliders and 95-96 mph sinkers--seem to be working.
  22. ESPN doing their utmost to convince us that only roboumps can call balls and strikes. Extra graphics to show what computer software can do that umps can't do. What a crock.
