  1. Indeed. But that's because he keeps throwing those sharp sliders which break away from the batter.
  2. A big part of the Sox problem getting hits is the A's pitching.
  3. About the bullpens. The A's had a day off Thursday. This is the Sox 11th game without a break.
  4. Credit Romo. He is working the slider on the outside corner well.
  5. He is good. He has other outfield assists this year. He just doesn't have much range. This was JDM's 3d outfield assist in 17 games. Renfroe has 11 in 72 games.
  6. Great play, great getting out of the 10th. Too bad the Sox might win this game because almost no one on this thread thinks they deserve it. That nattering nabobs of negativism have become a cacophony.
  7. Tough crowd here on talksox. The Sox have won 8 in a row and tonight they are worthless and Cora is an idiot. Lighten up, Francis.
  8. Gonzalez did a nice job covering 1b.
  9. And that's what Cora did.
  10. Rios was the weak link in the 8th, not Hernandez.
  11. Bad steal attempt, but, assuming the A's don't score in the 9th, Santana will not lead off the 10th and will start on 2b.
  12. Actually, he babies lots of guys, not just pitchers. And it seems to work. Trivino gets another call.
  13. WEEI guys say move Santana to 1b, Marwin to 2b, and Kike to CF for the bottom of the 9th.
  14. Dalbec out, of course, and Marwin in.
  15. Trivino got a gift in a spot outside where the Sox pitchers couldn't get a strike called.
  16. WEEI guys are fun to listen to but have no idea where the strike zone is.
  17. Petit's changeup really drops.
  18. Last night's box score says the A's attendance was 32,304. Really?
  19. JDM ain't too swift in the field, but he has a good arm, is a decent fielder, and loves going out there so someone else can DH--or he can he can play and hit in NL parks.
  20. Rays and Yankees fading, Jays now 3 back of the Rays but 8 back of the Sox.
  21. Great, great K by Taylor!! Out of the 7th, still 4-2.
  22. Lucky for Santana the A's runner fell down rounding 1st base. Hope Taylor's streak doesn't end tonight. Love the accidental foul for strike 1. Don't love the popup that went foul
  23. Just joined in time to see Kike's dinger but too late to see Richards 5 innings, 3 BB's, 2 K's, and just 2 runs. Clearly, he battled as I hoped (not predicted) he would. Can't ask for much more at this juncture because he's still adapting to the new reality. Nice throw by Taylor to get the man going to 2b. Too many pitchers have trouble throwing back over the mound.
  24. Agree. Sometimes I get games on Fox cable and sometimes I don't, but I always get them on mlb.tv online unless the Sox are playing one of my laughably "home" teams: Braves, Nationals, and Orioles. I say laughably because all three are too far away for me to get them on a cable channel and/or to drive to the game, see it, and drive home in less than a week. I drive a really sweet conestoga with 4 horsepower.
