    Sox get a really lucky break!!!! Vazquez wasn't on 1b when JDM hit that triple.

    Sox have scored 21 runs in 6 games so far on this trip to the west coast, but 5 of those were unearned. So the hitting has been off, predictably so. The Angels team ERA to date is 4.97. So the Sox are scoring 2 runs per game below that.

    Good point. Devers is pretty good at adjusting. I do not expect him to disappoint in the 2d half.

    In the old days before replays and when baserunners were allowed to destroy the the fielder touching the base, they gave that call to the fielder every time. I too think he missed the base, but I also think the Sox deserved that GIDP

    Sox do not make that double play. Once again a Sox batter takes a hittable pitch, then grounds out on one out of the strike zone. Actually, the ever popular GIDP. But that kind of matches his passivity when Dalbec hit that ball of the wall and Vazquez could only get from 1b to 2b. Best ever bone head play by a Sox was at least a decade ago. Man on 2b, and the next batter hits it over the the rightfielder's head for a double or triple, but the guy at 2b was too busy sliding back into 2b because he didn't want to be doubled up! So he ends up on 2b and the batter gets a single.

    Thanks for the corrections. I do remember the fly to left and do know that Hernandez is at the top of the order Renfroe 6th. Failing memory, I guess.

    That was intentional--throwing at Devers head. Twice, as it turns out.

    What everything? The Sox--first Vazquez parking on 1b for what should have been a Dalbec double with Vazquez on 3d or home, then Renfroe swings at a sky high fastball for strike 3, then JDM grounding out harmlessly with 2 men on. OK. Leadoff double by Bogaerts! Can Devers redeem himself?

    I thought it was pretty deflating in the top of the inning when Vazquez on first tagged up on what should have been a Dalbec double. Inexcusable. Also Renfroe's 3d swing, semi-check--at a fast ball a foot about the zone. Plus don't forget JDM grounding out harmlessly with runners on 1st and 3d.

    Third time through the order. Back to back dingers, the first one after Ohtani fouled one pitch off his foot and another off his knee. This year he is clearly a better hitter than Devers, Bogaerts, or JDM.

    Terrible at bat by JDM. That was in the geometric center of the strike zone. Heaney should be gone--pitch count 98. ERod to fact the 2, 3, and 4 Angles hitters.

    Vazquez forgot to tag up--even though it was 2 outs, you gotta be safe--and actually scored on that texas leaguer down the left field line.
