  1. I see that a lot now a days. I used to work security in a high rise here in Boston and so many people who spend millions when the sox were winning because the sox were winning lol. Although I did get lucky once on my birthday back in 2010. I got front row batting deck seats from a company that couldn't go. One time I had great seats for free. Big papi actually wished me happy birthday which made my day.
  2. While I was at winter weekend I was told by someone that Hanley ran up to a little boy who was wearing his jersey and gave him a hug. This event was well worth it because you actually got to mingle with the players, so if you didn't get a autograph session or photo with one you wanted you were bound to see them walking around and they were very approachable. Seen Tek at 6:45am on Saturday at Dunkins he was in line behind me. Tried to buy his coffees but the lady at the register thought I was nuts and didn't know who he was.
  3. I do stub hub usually or I buy tickets in advance cheap seats. I love being at fenway win or lose. If I could afford season tickets I would get them.
  4. They tried to get me to spend $250 last year on a 10 game package, and that was one ticket to 10 different games. I didn't do it though because I wanted to be able to pick my games.
  5. I met Tessie at winter weekend and also wallys parents were there lol. I will be honest though when I was at the town hall Jerry Remy and Dan O'Brien were sitting in front of me and they were wicked nice, but the NESN executive that was with them was a jerk! He kept saying come on remy and dan lets go into the green room and get away from all this. He goes come on folks jerry will be signing autographs tomorrow. Finally jerry said NAH MAN I wanna sign for these people, I don't mind at all. I mean I get we are ALL upset about Don but there isn't much we can do about it now that he is with the Padres.
  6. go to youtube and look up red sox winter weekend 2016 someone posted the lip sync battle and it shows hanley singing a backstreet boys song.
  7. I actually have a video I took at Winter Weekend this past weekend at the town hall of brock giving Boggs his jersey. Brock is now number 12. Here is the video shot.
  8. Each autograph session had one player past or present and one or 2 players past or present taking a photo with fans. They gave us a website to go to to look at all the photo sessions and I clicked on the Clemens one just for giggles and he had the same facial expression in all of them. Some woman heard me tell someone that I thought Clemens was a A $ $ and she was by a slot machine whispering to her friends and giving me the evil eye. I was like yeah I said it, and you weren't there when we were all walking this way with Clemens, the crap he said to the little kids wasn't right. Hanley was awesome he was wicked friendly with everyone. He seen a kid walk by him with his jersey on and he ran over and hugged him. I mean even if you didn't get who you wanted in one of your sessions you were bound to see them walking around and they were all approachable. Everyone including me screamed when Pedro walked into the room it was classic. They were all extremely nice except for Clemens. It did not surprise me though, because when I was a kid my 7th grade teacher's son played in the minor leagues for the sox and he was able to get Clemens and mo Vaughn to our school, and Clemens was rude then. Mo was nice though.
  9. No offense though Clemens was rude. He kept saying kids isn't it past your bed time!
  10. No he wasn't there, I meant Sam Kennedy.
  11. this was at Foxwoods. It was an awesome event and even if you didn't get the person you wanted in your session you were bound to see them walking around and they were approachable
  12. Man this was the BEST weekend ever! I was able to but extra autograph sessions on Friday for $20 a piece and I met so many greats! I was lucky enough to have Pedro in one of my autograph sessions! Had him sign my extra hat. I also met so many other players such as Brock, Dustin, betts, Bogarts, Tek, Clemens, Farrell, the president and many others.
  13. Panda will not be there
  14. someone in a group I am in on facebook posted the schedule for Saturday, with the list of times the events are going on. Looks like possibly a good shot I could get Tek or Pedro seeing as they are doing morning events and questions.
  15. I guess they decided to change it this year because lines were wicked long last year and it got frustrating. I got my email and it told me to pick a time slot so I did. I won't know till I get in line who it may be. Good thing is I heard from a few people who went last year is that many coaches staff and players walk around and they are easily approachable so that is awesome. I may get to meet who I want after all.
  16. Glad I am not the only one. I feel the same way. I kinda have a connection with clements because my dads cuz had dinner with his family a few times. Also back when he played for the sox my 7th grade teacher's son was in the minors for the sox and he brought him and mo Vaughn to our school. My only issue with the autograph sessions is they are blind. I hope they tell us when we get there who we will be meeting. I chose the 2-3pm time slot so I hope someone I haven't met yet is in there.
  17. So the emails for all of us who are going to Winter Weekend at Foxwoods have gone out. You are only allowed one autograph session and photo with one player. You have to sign up for a time slot, and they are between 10am and 6pm and each are only one hr sessions. Problem is you do not know who you will meet as it is a blind pick. Not sure what time to choose as I have already met most of the team and would much rather meet Tek or Pedro, and possibly Clements because I have yet to meet them.
  18. people were not rude to him he was being kinda rude to them. That's what I meant. If he didn't want to be bothered he shouldn't have gone into the store during Christmas at fenway when it was alive and bustling with tons of red sox fans.
  19. You are right that is true to an extent. He is famous people know who he is so he is bound to get pestered even when he doesn't want to. It wasn't like he was in the men's room trying to go pee, he was simply shopping in a public place I.E. the red sox store, so he shouldn't have expected to just be entirely left alone and not bothered while he shopped.
  20. not that young, I am almost 34. I have worked in CS for over ten years and I know all about having bad days. Especially working CS in college as well. I used to work security in a high rise in Boston and didn't matter if I was having a bad day, if I was rude to a customer I got in trouble or written up. If the customer was rude to me and I had some get down right nasty with me all because they didn't have access or were not on the list, I still had to be as nice as possible. Not saying he doesn't have the right to a bad day or the right to be in a mood, but he doesn't have the right to be nasty to people either.
  21. If he really did not want to be pestered or bugged while shopping he could have shopped on another day when no one was around.
  22. Even so he had no right to be rude to people like that. I have spoken to a few other sox fans who said he was pretty nasty a few times they seen him. If he didn't want to be bothered he should have had them open the store just for him for an hr so he could shop with no one bothering him.
  23. Also some of the restaurants over at assembly row are good such as papa gyo's
  24. I have some good places. One is in Somerville on Bow Street near Union Sq and its a breakfast place called the Neighborhood restaurant. It is tiny in the colder months but when spring and summer come they open up the outside patio and the breakfast is good. All breakfast's come with homemade cream of wheat which is really good. The other place is in Cambridge on Cambridge street going towards Lechmere station, and its a seafood place called courthouse seafood. They own the fish market and the resteraunt. $6.95 fish n chips all day every day, and if you go WED or Sat its super fish n chip still for only $6.95. They have some of the freshest seafood around.
