  1. JBJ is the best option we have RIGHT NOW. I don't see changing him out with anyone we have on the team RIGHT NOW . Our team has only played teams from Florida this year RIGHT NOW. I don't even see the JBJ issue being the most pressing issue on the team RIGHT NOW. I'm not considering his start to the year RIGHT NOW, it's more what he has done in his past and what I think he will bring THIS YEAR. He's the best defensive center fielder I've ever seen on the Sox. It's just if he doesn't have his one month of hitting his defense doesn't make him valuable and I one year when he went ape s*** at the plate the whole team was feasting off crap pitching at the same time in a situation where the team was already slated for last place. Has the guy ever done anything in the playoffs? By september they throw him something that breaks outside and he takes a swing that makes you wonder how he ever made it to the majors.
  2. Good on ya then. That's quite a lot you predicted packed into your post.
  3. I thought the realistic standard fan expectation to be set in any recovery report from this FO was to triple it and then pray it wasn't the whole season or at least months. Who knows, but anytime I've ever heard "break" in my entire lifetime, it wasn't going to just heal up in a couple of weeks. Xander was healed up in a couple weeks last year after being hit on the hand. That worked out well.
  4. He is for sure. I thought last year due to gained experience he might stretch out that month a bit, but it didn't happen. I've given up on him at the plate, and don't think trusting him to have a magic month at bat should be counted on for a team this caliber.
  5. What really scares me about JBJ is that one year he doesn't have his magic month.
  6. That's a lot of padding the stats off struggling pitching. No need to preach defense. I get it.
  7. Check out his break out season month two years ago. Check out the game scores and who hit during those games. The whole team was just raking that month. I still don't know if it was crappy pitching or what, but JBJ was just pouring it on, not really winning games. If you are the person who is paying JBJ, I'm be damned worried he doesn't have his one month where he finds it during the year.
  8. I'd be looking to get something good for Bradley from some GM that reallly digs the defense. If he stays he stays, if he goes he goes....
  9. I hate to say this. I dig Hanley a bunch and hope he does well. You can all pile on later. But I bet he stinks up the joint again this year. I do have to say the more his helmet stays on his head after a swing the better he does, and it's stayed on all this year from what I have seen.
  10. Totally. This is gravy that will help if we are contenders. I have no idea if we are contenders from what we have done so far, but if we are, it helps quite a bit. We all know a win in March is as good as a win in Sept. But....... where the hell is the offense? I'm having flashbacks from last year.
  11. Nice try....... we all know you are sending wraiths at Joe Kelly, don't act all innocent about it.
  12. This is a strange start to the season. But damn....... I like the win/loss column....
  13. Come out to the coast! We'll get together, have a few laughs
  14. Barnes is all over the place. Not even close to where Vaz holds his mitt
  15. Waiting for Hanley to get down on one knee, then Superman jump fly out of the stadium into the sky after that game.
  16. I think it's PTSD from not scoring much last year and too many runners LOB. PTSD is a disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. PTSD: It is natural to feel afraid during and after a traumatic situation. Fear triggers many split-second changes in the body to help defend against danger or to avoid it. This “fight-or-flight” response is a typical reaction meant to protect a person from harm. Nearly everyone will experience a range of reactions after trauma, yet most people recover from initial symptoms naturally. Those who continue to experience problems may be diagnosed with PTSD. People who have PTSD may feel stressed or frightened even when they are not in danger. Re-experiencing symptoms include: Flashbacks—reliving the trauma over and over, including physical symptoms like a racing heart or sweating Bad dreams Frightening thoughts Arousal and reactivity symptoms include: Being easily startled Feeling tense or “on edge” Having difficulty sleeping Having angry outbursts
  17. I think you have to factor in who is doing the aggressive running. After a while you get an idea who has high IQ baserunning skills. Hanley is probably one of our smartest baserunners on the team and questioning his decisions to stretch out a hit or stealing probably shouldn't be done by us fans sitting at home. Hanley's judgement cannot be matched by most players in the MLB. Being it's April first.
  18. Thanks Kimmi. Always good to see you also. Quick shout out to all people here on Talksox. As for another Sox season........... Let's get ready to rumble.
  19. ahahaah..... screw you Tampa
