  1. Players should have at least good fundamentals by the time they are in the big show. When they hit Farrell, players should at least know and be able to execute the fundamentals of both fielding and running without even thinking about it. At the top level they shouldn't be going over basics, and we aren't even seeing basic stuff done well. Farrell shouldn't have his staff talking about when to tag up, or when to hold the ball, or how to take a lead. He should be talking about how to maximize that stuff. We aren't even seeing the basics done well from these players. I can't blame Farrell for that. If you want to talk about why these players are not remembering the basics when under pressure, I would consider that. But blaming Farrell for people thinking a pop fly is going to be called an infield fly rule, or Hanley not seeing Benny at second, or some third baseman throwing away a ball instead of holding on to it, just doesn't make sense to me.
  2. By the time these guys are playing for the Red Sox, they have already had about a decade of coaching on how to run the bases. And some of that coaching at high level. If Farrell is teaching them the basics of how to run and field at this level, then the last decade of coaching has been a total failure. At this level Farrell and team would be fine tuning a players game. Making them top of the notch players, not little league crap. This is on the players. This is rookie league crap we are seeing. Maybe some of these players are over their head and panicking.
  3. grrrrrrrrrrrrr........
  4. Time to bust out of the slump....................... RIGHT NOW
  5. This kid is sick....
  6. Vasquez messes around a lot behind the plate. Showing low, then last second asking for a high pitch. I would think that would mess with the pitcher.
  7. This has been a whopper of a stinker of a crapper of a game....
  8. Serioulsy. This team is unbeleivable.
  9. Fun way to finish......
  10. This series has been insane...
  11. I have an enourmous headache in my eye...
  12. It was bad for Pedey to throw put up his mitt and kind of ask for the ball. But Hembree should know the shortstop has a way better play on that sweeping infrom short and going in the motion to first. That's double play 101. IT actually kind of blows my mind Hembree did that.......... he panicked....
  13. Good call. They made some real nice plays last night.
  14. I figured that was the case. I also figured giving the finger in the direction of those people was probably the least he could do. Drunk fans get way out of control. Security should have pulled them out as soon as any stuff like that was yelled. They need more security up there....... I don't want my team to be known for that garbage....
  15. I always thought the player meetings were kind of funny. Isn't that what a coach should be doing?
  16. I agree with you completely.... Not that this board hasn't tackled this before on multiple occasions. But someone mentioned that on some teams the actual best releiver isn't the closer. Taz when he was good was a good example of that role. Like MVP is saying, I think you need a stopper, and then something like a closer. I'd say the stopper is more important. The closer kust has a cooler role.
  17. I think a bunch of the poeple on this board have hung out before......They seem to know each other pretty well. I don't live in the East Coast any more and haven't for years...... but if I was there I'd look up some of these Sox fans for sure....
  18. Totally........... they need to get playing ball.......
  19. Effin worst........ this game discusted me.........
  20. The fack that we are only down three blows my mind...
  21. There is no manager in this world that could make Hanley a good baserunner.
  22. This is almost comical at this point....
  23. This is total s*** game...
  24. I would think it should be even now. Barnes really did mess up going high......
