  1. Things are looking up, a little. But, can we still trade Price?
  2. Think about this, the Sox have 14 games with the Rays and Yankees at the end of the month, into the 1st week of August. If the choice is no Eovaldi for those games, because he's not ready to start, or he's in the pen for those games, which is more beneficial to the team?
  3. "Eovaldi, who last pitched on April 17, is on the 60-day injured list after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on April 23 to address loose bodies in his right elbow. He's been on a conservative throwing program after a bout with right biceps tendinitis prolonged his recovery from the surgery, but Eovaldi threw off a mound on Monday and is scheduled to do so again Wednesday." https://www.mlb.com/redsox/news/nathan-eovaldi-possible-red-sox-closer-injured-list-return
  4. 10 games out at the halfway point is probably a good time to panic. I'm not sure you can take Eovaldi out of the rotation, if he was never really in it. If the choice is get Eovaldi off the IL and back on the mound now, or wait another week or two to stretch him out, I'll take now.
  5. 05-31-2018, 04:38 PM #39 MADSTORK The great Porcello 7IP 7ER and we are supposed to think this Staff again in 2018 will win a ring? Dombrowski missed the boat on Verlander and Cole. Will he make the same mistake this deadline? Make the call on Odorizzi Hamels (depending on vesting option?) Fullmer, Harvey, Wheeler, Ross and maybe the great Kershaw. Tax strapped is a beautiful thing ain't it my friends
  6. 05-16-2018, 04:13 PM #1620 MADSTORK Why is it so hard for a select few to recognize this Team is not Championship caliber? The roster as constructed was not good enough the past 2 playoffs but yet the same players return and fans talk about a different result. There is zero pitching after Sale and zero relief before Kimbrel. The Organization is Tax strapped at the moment to find any pitching help. It boggles my mind how Ownership says in 14 that signing players to big contracts at the age of 30 is not good business. Lester Lackey Miller all gone and Ramirez Sandoval Price are signed. Another tongue twister is what Cherington was thinking when he signed Ramirez. You had to know of the 2019 Free Agent Class but yet gives Ramirez a vesting option for that year? Same with DD and Price. DD didn't know of the arms in the 19 free agent class? Stupid business. Ownership needs to pull a Cashman. Dump the dead weight to reduce payroll for the 19 Free Agent Bonanza! Pomeranz Erod Kelly Porcello and do not allow Ramirez to vest. Talk Price into opting out? If you have to deal a prospect along with a Porcello type contract to get them out, so be it. 86 win Team with this pitching
  7. That definitely didn't help his image. But, after thinking about it, I put more of the blame on Farrell.
  8. Stop being so rankled Kimmi. ;-)
  9. You've certainly come to the right place for DIPS.
  10. Yup, nobody on the Sox is getting traded the first week of May.
  11. All BS! Except for that last part...
  12. I thought the sweep in Tampa was the turning point. Nope...
  13. Perhaps this year's team needs a little Joe Kelly Fight Club. They certainly don't have much fight in then now.
  14. Yup. There are only a couple of players hitting well at the moment, singling out JBJ is silly.
  15. It's not going to be easy. For every game they drop, the pressure is going to build and the tendency to press is going to be tougher to fight off.
  16. Davis is probably drooling at the prospect as we speak.
  17. Cue the injury excuse...
  18. If Cora has a plan, I hope he pulls it out soon. A good way to turn it around would be to kick the crap out of the O's and Yankees.
  19. The rotation does suck. I have no problem saying it. And if the starters don't pitch better, the bullpen is going to start sucking from overuse.
  20. As good as the staff was last year with Leon, I find it hard to believe that he'll be the easy fix. The problems run deeper than who's behind the plate. It was a sound idea to ease the starters along in ST. But, even sound ideas backfire. The starters better start figuring it out without the team coming up with a phantom injury to bail them out.
  21. Don't tell me you got sucked into playing again!
  22. Lucky you! Thankfully, we have just a handful up here.
  23. Hey Slasher. There is no such thing as a "nice winter" in NH. lol Glad it's over and that baseball is back. How you been?
