East Bay Evans's Achievements

  1. Got fairly close though interestingly enough:
  2. Grant Brisbee had a pretty solid article on him and others.
  3. Mike Trout getting for a six-year, $144.5 million contract extension. Average annual value being $24 million. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/28/report-angels-and-mike-trout-close-to-agreement-on-contract-extension/
  4. Mmm, same. Nice views of the waterfront, but yeah, definitely some reason to be scared when you're up higher in the park. I last went in '04 so I just call it Pacbell or the "Phone Booth" much to the chagrin of the newer Giants fans.
  5. I wouldn't argue that Fenway isn't superior. I just like the Coliseum regardless of its flaws (perceived or otherwise) Also, a way to superimpose them if you're curious.
  6. Tis' a nice place to catch a game. The amenities aren't all that hot, but I've grown to really dig the place over the years. I certainly wish I'd had the chance to see it pre-Mt. Davis. As for your opinion on the fans, I'd inquire, but I have to imagine it's a generalization of some kind. To each his own. But yeah, love the fries. Good stuff.
  7. Themselves, evidently. Particularly bizarre given Cabrera's interest in staying with Detroit.
  8. Balfour was signed by the Rays.
  9. Yes, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree as you've said. Happy to inform you of some of these past records regardless.
  10. The standings I posted above are the 2003-2013 Red Sox seasons. The Angels don't adhere to any annual ST-Regular Season trend either (feel free to look up the standings of the past decade or so). As for the Lakers, they're are playing an entirely different sport with a different schedule, so I doubt that they're especially relevant. Basically, winning (or losing) these ST games has no effect on how a team does in the regular season.
  11. I'd just take the step of recognizing that it really doesn't matter at all. There's a reason teams put out scrub teams/lineups during Spring Training, and it ain't to create a sense of "momentum" so to speak. Once the real regular season games start, the Red Sox and other squads will start worrying about their records. I don't see any reason why we as fans shouldn't follow the FO's example.
  12. 2013 ST: 17-17 (.500) Regular Season: 97-65 (.599) 2012 ST: 16-11 (.593) Regular Season: 69-93 (.426) 2011 ST: 14-19 (.424) Regular Season: 90-72 (.556) 2010 ST: 17-14 (.548) Regular Season: 89-73 (.549) 2009 ST: 20-14 (.588) Regular Season: 95-67 (.586) 2008 ST: 8-13 (.381) Regular Season: 95-67 (.586) 2007 ST: 15-12 (.556) Regular Season: 96-66 (.593) 2006 ST: 9-20 (.310) Regular Season: 86-76 (.531) 2005 ST: 15-15 (.500) Regular Season: 95-67 (.586) 2004 ST: 17-11 (.607) Regular Season: 98-64 (.605) 2003 ST: 15-14 (.517) Regular Season: 95-67 (.586) Bold being lousy/middling spring training records. Underlined being the best ST records. Not really seeing any significant correlation here, particularly if one considers other MLB teams as well. (i.e. 2013 Dodgers, 2012 Braves etc...)
