  1. Sweep! Sweep! Sweep! What a crap team of losers we have!
  2. Trevor “.180” Story up
  3. We are AT LEAST two years away from being competitive. Way too many holes to fill and way too much of a Broom mess to clean up. Next year will be another hold your nose year.
  4. It has to be intentional.
  5. Duvall stinks. I won’t miss him. This team is definitely (and wisely) tanking.
  6. Bloom could not spend without getting the approval of ownership. And Henry had already issued a directive to reduce payroll. I think we were around 13th in payroll this year, a significant departure from years past when Henry was much more willing to spend. But hey-its his money, his business. We are just poppyseeds in the bakery of life, right?
  7. Last place Boston Red Sox Has a very familiar ring to it. Unwatchable team.
  8. He's not that good at cheating. He got caught.
  9. Well that was certainly an inspiring game!
  10. Mediocrity is THE worst. Bad means no expectations and a better draft pick to use for future success.
  11. I can feel the excitement about this series here on the forum! It’s contagious!
  12. Pretty heavy LHH tilt. I don’t see Ref as anything but a bench player and Reyes isn’t exactly a power hitter so Duvall is our only real RH power hitter if Turner leaves as expected. Duvall is too streaky to be dependable. So we’ll still need to replace Turner with one or two RHHers with power. Just one of our many needs.
  13. You’re assuming Turner won’t be back. If he leaves they will need to replace him with a RHH power bat. Too many LHH.
  14. Duran had a pretty good year. If he’s not in CF he has to be traded if Rafaela is our CF.
  15. So who plays CF next year? Duran or Rafaela? And what becomes of the other guy?
  16. He’ll probably be picked up by the A’s or Rays and have a sub 3 ERA next year.
  17. Agreed The management never decided which way to go at the deadline. They became catatonic, neither buyers nor sellers. And it cost them.
  18. It’s fine to lose the rest of the games-except when we’re playing the Yankees.
  19. Just show him the same door Bloom went out by.
  20. Can we get rid of Bernie right now?
  21. Game over This team absolutely sucks
  22. Henry is going to need to loosen the purse strings if this team is going to be consistently competitive, no matter who the new GM is. We are now 13th in team salary after being in the top tier for a long time. While loosening the purse strings doesn't guarantee success its a good start. The good news is that the Yankees are #2 in team salary and they STILL SUCK!
  23. Of course it makes sense (and no, I’m not watching the game). If the team is good more often than not they play well and are interesting to watch. If the team is bad they get a good draft pick and have a better chance of winning in the future. Mediocre teams provide neither benefit to the fans.
  24. Better than even odds, yes. They define mediocrity-and that’s even worse than being good or bad. And it’s boring. Enjoy the rest of the game.
