  1. I agree with you on just one thing: this subject HAS been beaten to death. It’s irrelevant now since we still aren’t playing baseball in October. Again
  2. I wrote this earlier and my post got eaten by the dog it seems. During the Yankee series Chisholm was wearing a mic.. The asked him about the switch to 3B when he became a Yankee (he was an OF). He told the Yankees he’d play anywhere they asked-he just wanted to play. THAT is the proper attitude.
  3. Right like anyone could have predicted Toro would play so well. Besides-Toro is playing 3B. Devers could still have played 1B.
  4. Breslow talked to Devers about it and Devers did what’s best for Devers at the expense of the team. The proper response was “ I’ll play wherever management wants me to play.” Of course Cora never brought it up after Breslow discussed it with Devers. It would have been pointless and just pissed him off. ”Me first; team after that”
  5. Cora never told him to play 1B because Devers made it quite clear that that wasn’t going to happen. Not sure if Breslow talked to him about it-I kinda recall that conversation happening but I could be wrong. Apologies for the ad here: BOSTON -- Rafael Devers is the Boston Red Sox's designated hitter. And he's not interested in another position switch. ADVERTISING Speaking with reporters for the first time since Triston Casas was ruled out for the season after rupturing his left knee tendon and undergoing surgery, Devers said Thursday that Red Sox management approached him about the idea of filling in as Boston's first baseman. Devers, a three-time All-Star, said he doesn't see it in his best interest to make another position switch after being asked to move from third base to DH during spring training after the Red Sox signed Alex Bregman to play third. "They came to me and talked to me about it," Devers said after homering and driving in two in Boston's 5-0 win over Texas. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45059014/rafael-devers-tells-red-sox-move-first-base
  6. A "right to be annoyed"??? The team first attitude is "the addition of Bregman makes us a better club. I'll play wherever I am told to play, to the best of my ability". Obviously that did not happen. And given the state of the team now it doesn't matter where he plays. They still will not be playing baseball in Oct.
  7. I know it’s not happening. Neither is world peace or the invention of a perpetual motion machine. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen. It should.
  8. Does a few wins really matter this year? It’s the perfect time to set the proper culture for the team if/when they become competitive again.
  9. Yeah, I remember that now. He should’ve been disciplined like Devers should be disciplined. It’s a team sport. No player should be above the team. It just sends the wrong message.
  10. I think we do have a good farm system now-and that bodes well for the future. But we should be competitive nearly every year. We aren’t-at least we haven’t been
  11. This isn’t a small market team with limited resources like the Rays. We should be competitive nearly every year. This is the fourth year in a row where we stink. That’s inexcusable. Something is rotten with this franchise-probably a lot is rotten, starting with the owners.
  12. If we only sucked for this year or last year and this year that’s fine. But it’s been what-five years now? Something has to change. Can’t fire Henry. Can’t fire the entire roster. So Cora must go.
  13. Wait til next year…..or the year after….of the year after that. It’s a crap franchise owned by a cheapskate owner and run by incompetent management for years now. The Rays with what-20% of our budget are consistently competitive. We aren’t. That’s why Henry has to sell the team, get out. He doesn’t give a crap about winning any more. He use to. Not now.
  14. They never took the lead. Had they done so it would have been one of the rare occasions when I got it wrong. It does happen. Rarely. But not tonight.
  15. I called the game over and they lost. I’m almost always right. But hey-just wait til next year, right?
  16. It was over when the Rays went up 3-0. I called it over then. The Flops never took the lead.
  17. It’s for the best. The flops need to lose every game they play except against the Yankems
  18. Don’t look now but after this loss the Flops are just two games out of LAST PLACE in the lost column. Only the horrible O’s are worse.
  19. Not for long Bumadino throws a WP giving away another run Enjoy the loss Glops fans.
