  1. Hes still not fully back from shoulder surgery, hasnt faced MLB pitching in a long time, doesnt really look in much better shape....and Farrell is considering starting him in the playoffs? Is he out of his mind? To even consider this is ridiculous. Who cares what his PAST numbers say. Whats he look like Right now? To be able to get into not only game shape, but playoff game ready is asking way too much IMO. Shaw hasnt been a stud all year, but hes been a solid replacement with Holt subbing in when needed. Pablo is the one who lost his job being a selfish fat ass and the hurting his shoulder. He should get no consideration. Another reason for me to dislike Farrell and his managing style.
  2. Maybe you should look at the FULL body of work and not just a year where Vaz wasnt 100% back from TJS. Seriously? Thats what your basing your arguement on? This years stats for Vaz? Wow....talk about cherry picking to make an arguement. The bottom line is I woild be perfectly happy with a Vaz/Leon tandum behind the plate. Whan talking about a 2% CAREER difference in CS, its hard to say either one is really better. They are both solid defensive catchers. Vaz is better, but not by much.
  3. No he doesnt. Vaz 45% Leon 43% You may want re check your facts
  4. Exactly. Thats the juggling act GMs have every year. Who to go with and who to let go. Its a balance of salaries between young controllable players and guys approaching FA and their signability. Im sure they have a really good feel for who they have a better chance of signing. But bottom line is I dont believe all three will be here theoughout their arb years.
  5. Would LOVE to see this, and also see him get a couple hits. Maybe more playing time as a result. Hes a firey kid and I have to believe hes just itching to get in there and show them hes ready and 100%. Leons bat has been all but non existant (3-31 last 2 weeks) and Vaz is still the better defender. Vaz needs to take advantage of any playing time he gets.
  6. Good numbers all around Moon. Yes K/BB is the way to look at it in this situation. Hes walking less guys and still striking out a lot. Maybe not the most, but the best when compared to how many potential unearned runs hes walking. They are all deserving and nobody should complain if either of the three win it. My vote is for Porcello.
  7. I believe he will hit. Just personal opinion. He wont win any batting titles but I can see a line of 260 330 400. The BA will get better with regular ABs as a starter, but i can see around 260. Pitchers have all said how good he is and how much they enjoy throwing to him, so Thats not really even a question. I just think he needed more rehab. When he came back his accuracy on throws was way off. His offense was going to have to catch up to the D, which wasnt even 100% yet. Sending him to AAA was probably the best thing for his rehab and development. They are using the guys that got them there and will use Vaz as needed the rest of the way. Next year is a different story. Personally, I want to see him win the starting job in ST.
  8. Eventually, yes. I think hes got more work before he does that in MLB, But once he catches up to the speed of the MLB game, then yes. So adding those two guys, say by 2018, we could easily have 40-50 dingers between the two. My guess is at least one of Betts Bogey and Bradley are not going to be signed and will be traded before their arb years are up. With two of them signed with Boras, One being called MVP of the league, and all three MLB All stars, its gonna cost them north of 60m per to keep all three. Im sure they could afford it. My question is, what are they going to be seeking in years and AAV? We had to let Jacoby walk because of that. So there will be some hard decisions to make over the next three years with these three... Weve got a solid run of three years with this team. Hopefully we can capitalize on it a time or two and raise more trophies. That will make it easier when we have to let player(s) walk.
  9. Maybe Beni will contribute 20 over a full year. He certainly has that potential
  10. Some guys dont apply to the "prime age" rule...I said a long time ago on BDC that Beltre would be well worth a 5-6 year deal after his one year here. Many said no way because of the same reason you stated. Like Beltre, I think Hanley will age well into his age 35 year. The guy is in Phenomenal shape and a career almost 300 hitter. Seriously, I wouldnt worry about how Hanley ages over the next three years
  11. The great thing about Beni is there is NO platoon needed. Kid can hit LH or RH pitching.
  12. Clear runaway this year...and for 22M less;)
  13. If Delbac gets some pitch recognition hes going to leave the yard 40+ times a year in MLB. Kids a friggin beast.
  14. Hes about done. 34-35 and an ugly swing and bad pitch recognition. Or at least thats what he looks like at bat. Pitchers are fooling him. Cant even hit LHP that well. Id leave him off the PO roster and use Hernandez or someone. Seriously, i doubt they do that. Hes terrible.
  15. Maybe the term more breathing room would have been more appropriate for a Sox forum:p
  16. Swiharts not gonna be a bench guy. I would guess he starts in AAA as a catcher again and its going to be two of Leon, Vaz and maybe even Holaday if they wanna pay him arbitration. Unless Swihart looks a lot better behind the dish, i would guess at this point he will be penciled in as catcher in AAA to start 2017.
  17. Oh yeah...hey Corey!!
  18. I trust they know what they are doing as far as How his knee is feeling. Like I said, IF that knee is good enough to not worry he should be in there. Good thing is we have opened up a nice lead in the division and can afford to bring him back slowly just to be safe.
  19. What do you think they would, or should, offer Taz? Not sure I bring him back, but I would bring Koji back for a year. Maybe closer to 2-4M+Incentives
  20. We have young for a RH replacement in the OF, Shaw, Holt and a couple middle IF options besides them to fill in short term if need be. Also Moncada, over the next year, may be in Boston. Why do we need Beltran? DH? Hes been a 300 hitter a good OBP again with 140 games, so he will have some value, even if year to year at this point in his career. How much do you think the Sox or another team would be willing to go to to get Beltran for a DH/1b type? Hes Still has 25+hr power so hes going to carry some value, even if just the AL.
  21. He WHAT?!?!? Hes gone mad!!!
  22. I do hope you can find it in You to forgive my assumption. For i have meant no verbal harm to you
  23. My apologies for making an ass out of u;)
  24. Beni needs to get some more abs. If that knee is ok he needs to be in there vs every RHP and i wouldnt be hesitant to keep him in vs LHP too...kids a ballplayer.
  25. HA! Your right. I guess with all Moons plattoning ideas for hanley and all that i just assumed it was him. My bad...
