  1. Further away than a team we play four more times this year? If we traded him to an NL team, we could have theoretically faced him in the World Series for seven games.
  2. Would you have kept him? We weren't getting a significant return regardless of who we traded him to.
  3. Exactly. It would be one thing if we traded him to the Yankees or Orioles. But you don't not make a trade because it will result in you possibly facing the player four times the entire rest of the year.
  4. Do you think we could have gotten more of a return for him from an NL team but we decided to trade him to the White Sox just for shits and giggles?
  5. I'm sure if we traded Youkilis to an NL team for less of a return people would have complained just as much.
  6. Gio Gonzalez would have been nice. I suppose it could be worse though and we could have traded our best prospects for Pineda.
  7. Don't worry guys, Daniel Bard is gonna be a great starter.
  8. This one's all on Lester. The rest of the team played well.
  9. In a 7-2 game with 1 guy on base, I'd rather go with the guy with a .384 OBP.
  10. So we've moved on from complaining about the amount of terrible minor leaguers we got in return for Youkilis and now we're complaining about the lack of a pinch hitter in a 7-2 game?
  11. It probably had more to do with the fact that his arm would have fallen off if he was a starter the rest of the year.
  12. You know it's a terrible season when people are upset we didn't get three terrible players instead of two terrible players for our castaways.
  13. Unless Youkilis can pitch, whether or not's he's on the team will not be a deciding factor in our season.
  14. Youk was not hitting, not fielding, not staying healthy and everyone knew we had to move him. Players like that don't get significant returns.
  15. Matt Clement's money would have been better spent on Papelbon too. Who cares? The fact that Ortiz got paid less for more value doesn't help your case.
  16. It's just a flesh wound.
  17. 2012 There once was a team from Boston Who saw April as kind of a dry run When they would go on a streak The fans they would freak But every time that they won one they lost one
  18. Did you call him "Papp-le-bon"? That might have something to do with it.
  19. I stated that the Red Sox currently had $95 million committed to 2014, hence why the figure would not include team options they haven't activated (Lester) or arbitration offers they haven't made (the rest).
