I think Melancon will close if Bailey does indeed need to go under the knife. Remember he did close
last year and for a horrible team like the Stros 20 saves is not bad at all. Also the ERA was not too
bad as well. I think if Bailey goes down we can find a suitable closer until he comes back. On the
other hand if Beckett goes down then we have quite an issue at hand.
The latest news that i have seen was that BV stated that Beckett would absolutely start the second
game of the season. If something has changed please tell me.
That's fine by me as long as they are both effective in their roles. I think Doubront as the
4th would be fine and Bard until comfortable starting more and more is the perfect 5th
guy in the rotation.
Bard's line: 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 K.
All and All i think this was his best outing all spring. I feel with this outing he has secured
the 4th spot with Aceves going to the pen.
Not a bad pitch count after 4 innings i still believe he belongs in the pen but if he does make the
rotation i wouldn't be jumping off a bridge either.
Thanks guys and thanks User i thought it was good one to get everyone's attention. 700 to answer
your question i'm from long Island. I will be in boston for the rays series in May though.
I completely agree since he works for ESPN he has a primary objective and that is to
keep his job. The problem i have with Schilling is that it's blatantly obvious he does not
like BV which is fine with me, But to do it at a time when this franchise is searching
for answers from last year is not.
I completely sold that Schilling is starting this whole mess since he has or had a bromance
with Francona. I appreciate Schilling and everything he has brought to this franchise but
i think it's time to shut up and be objective.
I honestly believe it will be Aceves and Doubront. I do believe it's a thin back end of a
rotation but i don't think BV has a choice considering the Bullpen that he has at 1 wk till
opening day.
I guarantee right now that it will be Aceves and Doubront as the 4th and 5th starter with Bard back in the bullpen. Bard is just to valuable right now for them to allow him to start not with the bullpen as
a possible detriment right now.
Yea CC has not even begun to swing live as of today only 20 bunts i believe which is fine i get it
considering we want a healthy CC. The problem i have is why didn't JH say something beyond the
media and stop opening his wallet and take a hard look at the man's medical records for crying out
loud. I love this team sometimes even more then my wife lol jk, But things have to get better right?
I think the problem is and has been the price of CC not the fact of the wrist issue. If they
went say 3-4 years and 40-50 mil i would have been alot happier sleeping at night.
Yea i read that somewhere that Maddon stated that i just cannot for the life of me
remember when he said it. I look at it this way was the price too much for CC of
course i have never thought of him as an elite player but more of a complentary
piece.
I honestly feel alot better about our 4th starter right now then i would say 2 weeks ago.
I'm an upbeat type of fan and always look for the positives but within reason of course.
