  1. Somehow they still have the best record in the AL right now too
  2. I don't really buy into this Papelbon declining theory, but I do agree with ital that trading for him and then having his salary on the team would take away from a much larger concern, being the rotation. Shoring up the bullpen isn't a terrible idea either, but at 15 something million a year, yeah I don't know. Uehara so far has done pretty well in the 9th, I know he's only had a couple outings, but he's looked good. The team still has Tazawa to fall back on as well.. and I'm sure there will be plenty of MUCH cheaper options available at the deadline that could be almost if not AS effective as Papelbon has been or possibly could be. Now if the sox are going to dump a bunch of prospects onto the Phillies, it had better be for Cliff Lee, not Jonathan Papelbon.
  3. Haha no, that s*** creeps me out too.
  4. I'm in tears I'm laughing so hard.
  5. How about we trade our tiger blood, for some WINNING
  6. I don't understand that. Having only one reliever to close out games never works, simply because that's too many innings for a relief pitcher. Now having the hype of a designated closer I can sort of understand, but why not have two-three of your best relievers ready to close games at any time? It would certainly keep the bullpen a little more fresh, yes?
  7. Not really on topic but I still thought it funny: Jose Iglesias has hit as many homeruns as Jacoby Ellsbury.
  8. Which is about the only thing holding him back right now. He's a great pitcher, but he'll never be an ace if he can't stay off the DL. On the bright side, Aceves has been looking pretty solid in his spot starts lately. I mean he's gotten a little lucky, sure. His walks are a little high, but he's done well enough. Maybe he'll keep it up on tuesday.
  9. I know this is a joke, but I would just like to point out that Cain is probably the only one on this list likely to fix his issues any time soon. He's started putting up quality starts again and his ERA is back under 5. Lincecum is back in the bullpen and not doing very good there either.
  10. And not 7 ER in the first!
  11. A win is a win is a win. A lot of people talking about how the sox need to trade for a closer now I feel like we need starting pitching WAY more than a relief pitcher at the deadline.
  12. Damn that's a hard one.. I'd have to say a toss up between Iglesias and Carp for me.. We all thought Iglesias couldn't hit.. Now I don't think he can keep up his current pace, but damn.
  13. Looks like you're getting your wish
  14. Who is this guy talking and why does he suck? When does Remy come back?
  15. I think Ford picked a bad time to play that Jon Lester commercial haha
  16. Craig Breslow: Still better than Matt Albers
  17. Damn I leave for two seconds and it's 9-5... I guess I shouldn't be watching this game, they'd score more runs!
  18. It's only June and Chris Davis has 26 HRs??? Any chance he's on PEDs? EDIT: Looks like 27 homers now.
  19. Man I thought that was gonna be gone.
  20. ESPN prize eligible leagues are HTH categories.. so it's whoever wins the category for that week.. it's sort of like a combination of rotisserie and HTH points.. I just started getting into this format, it's different but I like it.. I've been doing HTH points for about three years now, and I was so used to that and it was hard to get used to categories because they way you play either format is way different.
