  1. RE: Crawford's stance: Bobby made that comment during his ESPN TV analyst stint
  2. The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that a new manager will be named Tuesday. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/chi-red-sox-to-name-new-manager-20111128,0,6016724.story
  3. Ortiz taking arbitration means he gets $15M. There isn't another team out there that will touch him for that. The FO seems confused IMHO.
  4. IF it was Larry's team from the beginning, do you think we would have experienced a meltdown in September? I think the man has more pride than that.
  5. Gentle Ben meets with Valentine today, and I say, Valentine is named Manager before Thanksgiving.
  6. According to Jeff Passan, Valentine is to meet with Gentle Ben on Monday.
  7. As Nick Cafardo says; "I'm waiting for numbers 5 and 6."
  8. I still have this fantasy that it might be Tek. Say it isn't so! What did he do to help control the team in September? Not much...... Leading by example for some players isn't enough!
  9. Lackey getting TJ surgery is a convenient way to quiet the fans for 2012, and in 2013 maybe his contract can be picked up for a reasonable price by another team.....ANY team, please. According to Nick Cafardo, the surgery was suggested by Lackey's agent and NOT Doc Yocum. At least we won't have to put up with him in 2012.
  10. I don't think the problem started in 2010.....Farrell was still on the job and doing what seemed to be ok. I did notice that Francona and Farrell did not see eye/eye. Buchholz has stated that Young was laid back and Farrell had more control over the pitchers. The Jays advised in one of the Boston papers today that they would not deny Farrell from interviewing for the Boston position.
  11. Cherington has been working behind enemy lines for the last ten days. Now he must get his chess pieces in order and start his reign in Boston. We'd of been better had Curt Young not come to Boston at all.
  12. Don't ya just get that all-over warm feeling when he says it was only in the 9th inning?
  13. Those familiar with Cherington claim that he's his own man. Let's hope so. He is different from Theo in that he's more serious than .....that could be a good thing. Cherington has learned the ropes on his way up so that may prove helpful. sleepyhollow
