  1. Tigers are 10-3 against the Yankees in the playoffs this decade. Tigers are the only team to win 3 consecutive series against the Yankees. Tigers are the first team since the 1922-1923 Giants to eliminate the Yankees in consecutive series. After every elimination, it's always how the Yankees lost. I find it ironic Austin Jackson homered off Sabathia and Phil Coke closed the game while Granderson was benched.
  2. Who owns the Yankees in the regular season? Hal Steninbrenner Who owns the Yankees in the playoffs? The Detroit Tigers
  3. Red Sox fans seem more excited about this than Tiger fans.
  4. Give the Yankees credit. This was the first time since 2001 they beat someone other than Minnesota in the ALDS.
  5. When the Yankees lose to Detroit it's an epic collapse. Since the Yankees are playing Detroit, maybe they should listen to a Motown classic, R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
  6. I can't believe I wanted to face Baltimore instead.
  7. Could A-Rod play a corner OF position? Trade him to Detroit. If the Yankees will pick up his salary, why not?
  8. I live about 15 miles north of Comerica and it has yet to rain and it doesn't even look like rain is on the horizon.
  9. The Tigers aquired Cabrera the same year A-Rod opted out of his contract. Imagine if the Yankees traded for Cabrera instead of extending A-Rod. no one was offering anything close to what A-Rod got.
  10. Wait, did Bud Selig let the Reds back into the playoffs? maybe he could do this for the Yankees.
  11. I thought the Dodgers were where you dump bad contracts?
  12. I wonder if the Yankees would still do the Granderson for Jackson and Coke trade?

  14. I'm thankful that the New York Yankees chose to lose every time they play Detroit in the playoffs. It's really considerate of them. Not sure what game cast you seen, but the one I saw showed Fister getting squeezed pretty good, especially in the first inning. Fister wasn't getting the calls on the outside that Pettite was getting. That's why the Yankees had so many hitters counts. The Tigers didn't hit well at all against the A's. Most of their runs in the first part of the series came from errors by the pitcher and a dropped ball by Coco Crisp. Not to mention Fielder has done nothing, but that's just that great Yankee pitching. The Yankees don't get beat, they lose.
  15. Every time the Tigers play the Yankees, I always hear how the Yankees lost the series. If the Tigers scored as little runs as the Yankees have, we'd hear how great the Yankees pitching is, and not how bad the Tigers offense has been. TBS is sure to point out every pitch by a Tiger pitcher left up in the zone. They also point out Delmon's HR would not be a HR pre 2003, but fail to mention Nunez benefited as well from the fence being moved in.
  16. Tigers are 9-3 against the Yankees in the post season. They are not the Minnesota Twins.
  17. He should go with his reliable closer.
  18. I don't see the Yankees complaining that Fister was getting squeezed in the first inning. I find it hard to believe someone with Fister's control walks 3 hitters in the first inning. Then there was only 1 walk the next 5 innings. Lets not forget that the Yankees were lucky there was even a play at 2B. The Yankees are complaining about not capitalizing on a bad base running play by Infante. That doesn't negate the fact Yankee pitchers gave up like 5 straight hits, or the fact the Yankees have been held scoreless for 20 of the 21 innings played. The Tigers have beaten them twice in the post season and each time we heard how the Yankees lost. If the Yankees lose this series, it will be no different.
  19. I'm using Fister's career ERA+ and FIP when comparing to Beckett so I still don't get your point. If you're saying McCarthy was better than Beckett, than you may have something.
  20. McCarthy's career numbers are worse than Fister's so I'm not sure what point you are trying to prove.
  21. One I'm using career numbers not last year. Fister has two full seasons under his belt. What more does he need? In 10+ years Beckett has only pitched 200 innings 3 times. I guess that's something else they have in common. Beckett is not any better than Fister and costs a lot more. I'm sorry blowing 68 million on Beckett bother's you.
  22. LOL you're not defending the home team? I stated Fister has better numbers than all the Boston starters and it's true. You just keep coming up with things like ballparks and opponents to lessen the blow that Boston has dropped millions of dollars in starting pitching and Fister is pitching just as well.
  23. What don't you understand about road splits or not in Safeco? Their road numbers are indentical. The FIP and ERA are AWAY from safeco and are the same or better than Beckett's away from Fenway. You keep saying Beckett would far surpass Fister if he played at Safeco, but I'm not even including Fister's statistics at home, nor am I including Beckett's statistics at Fenway. If you makes feel better hanging your hat on the Safeco factor, then go ahead.
  24. Again, I don't know how else to explain this, but I have removed the Safeco factor. Their ERA+ and road splits are indentical. Good stuff doesn't mean you're a better pitcher. All the stats indicate that Fister prevents runs at an equal or better rate than Beckett. I can't help it if Fister has an equal ERA+ and better ERA and FIP on the ROAD than Beckett and cost 60 million less. Doesn't make me a homer.
  25. You keep bringing up Safeco but his ERA+ is the same as Beckett's and Fister's road numbers are the same as Beckett's. You can keep trying to say it's factor but the numbers prove otherwise. The Mariners still had to play the Rangers. Fister pitched a total of 4 games against Boston, New York, and Texas not including the playoffs and Beckett pitched 6 against New York and Texas. Two additional games is not going to make a difference, especially since Fister pitched well against those teams
