  1. You could be right about that. I won't even buy movie theater popcorn, the quality is so bad compared to what I make at home. Now the beer at Fenway...I would rate those prices about what I would equate with a market serving addicts.
  2. Frankly I would say the popcorn venders are the only guys that escape criticism. I'm not as sure about the hot dog vendors. They might be on shaky ground for next year.
  3. They have to know the offense has to show up every day. We are starting Nate, Porcello, BJ and our star, ERod. We are lucky to get two decent starts out of that bunch. This is why they are unable to go on a run. Eventually we run into a game where the offense does not show and the starting pitching really never shows up outside of Erod. That combination means you are going to win 3-4 at best or 3-5. That would be fine from the start of the season till now but trying to catch up.....not gonna' work. This Padres team is awful. They were trying to give us the game all game long and we would not take it.
  4. So I could be wrong but since the Sox just went 500 for the month at 11-11, I think they are now 11-12 for August. Some run these guys are on. Thats going to get them past nobody....gonna' get them to making their tee times.
  5. They are just not good enough to get to that pitch and if they get to it, more often than not they can't hit the spot. So, can't get to it, meaning trying to get the count to 2 strikes they are bound to throw some suck ass pitch that JD just eats alive before they can get to the low and outside pitch....weak cheese is what JD mostly feeds on earlier in counts. Then there are the guys that just can't help but throw a Slider right over the heart and JD eats that stuff up too. As bad as I have seen MLB pitching, expansion years, what have you, this is the worst MLB pitching across all pitchers all teams I have seen in my entire life and I am old as dirt!
  6. Machado has found the perfect team for him. He fits right in here. Iggy fits right in at the Reds. Nice to see guys find a comfy home for themselves.
  7. I do not find watching Cashewnuts pitch a pleasing experience.
  8. The Padres really do need God's intervention. Maybe when there is a play like that bonehead running out of his shoes, the skies should open and God should just pluck him right off the diamond.
  9. I thought he was out at home. But that has to be the most Godawful slide at home I have seen in a loooooooong time.
  10. Geezus the Padres need God's intervention. They are terrible.
  11. Finally threw a competitive pitch in the second inning of a game while already down 3-0.
  12. Atta' boy BJ. Why give up a solo HR when you can walk somebody and give up a 2 run HR.
  13. Thank God that last hook was outside or we would be looking at 4-0 right now.
  14. BJ has a chance against the teams that have no plate discipline whatsoever and no plan other than swing hard every time at everything. He can keep the ball off the barrel against those idiots. The fact that he can actually get a few decent stints in is entirely attributable to the stunningly large number of teams playing MLB that I just described in that one statement.
  15. Honest to God I would have brought back Weber and started him. As soon as BJ takes the hill its a bullpen game anyway. Who are we kidding.
  16. Facing him must be like: - holy s***, how is staying upright with that motion - then, is he going to hit me????? - then, crap I'm out
  17. Well that was yet another manfred missile HR but BJ is throwing nothing out there...nothing.
  18. Joey Luc must do this with mirrors. Gets you wondering if he is going to throw it right at your head with that motion of his and suddenly "s***....its s strike!"

  20. Just a reminder....8:30 eastern start tonight.
  21. They must have given the teams and players some discretion on what they are wearing. The red belt I have seen some of the Braves wearing is sort of a metallic black cherry, much like the color of the bat Erod brought with him to the plate. Really neat look with the black unis IMO. Not real amped up over the red belt Holt is wearing. Sox should have been allowed a dark red B against those matt black helmets too. Sox already doing much better in these unis than they did in any year of the beer league player's weekend unis.
  22. The blacks are better than the whites. I thought we would be able to wear those metallic red belts the Braves have with their black unis...why not I wonder??? Those belts really make the black unis. Braves/Mets in a real pitching dual 1-1 into extras. MLB announce team commenting on how refreshing it has been to see pitchers actually CHALLENGE hitters for a change. I agree completely!!!
  23. Well there is one thing I can say for this year's player's weekend unis....they are light years better than the weekend beer league softball unis they wore the last two years. I suspect this is the players comment on how crappy those unis were or their take on what fans thought of those unis.

  25. I really thought the Guardians had a shot. But now every guy that could help them including Cory Kluber has been transferred to the 60 day IL, most of them in the last week. Now they have drek coming back if their 60 day IL transfers are to be believed. Probably have to best the Twins for the Division to make it in.
