  1. I actually have always for decades now thought that umps have it in for rooks. Umps are the most arrogant shits on the planet.
  2. Good job Padilla...WMB will learn...he has been casual on a couple of plays while being up here...this is no place for that s***....run down the first base line until somebody says the ball you hit is foul....don't try any fancy ball transfers lying on your back. That in between hop was a play anybody can foul up.
  3. That is an out period...that is an out lesson to WMB...no fancy s*** when you are lying on your back...just reach into into the glove and take the ball out. Got it kid?
  4. Yep we have played some crap baseball again...although it has been much better tonight....amazing the difference one or two guys playing hard smart baseball can make. That was a bad play there though and it cost us an out in an inning where the tribe is on the warpath.
  5. Well this is not a comment about the posters it is a comment about the actual managers involved...we had posts reminding us that Tito may have cost 10 games a season...V seems to be on pace slightly higher I think!!!!
  6. Well what were we saying a blow up would cost Buch...3 runs by the time V was through....Isn't that what they got....3 runs?
  7. Clearly they forgot to wake McDime up before sending him to the plate.
  8. Well I would rather they are cautious with Ortiz...without him....yikes!!!
  9. It was not a great performance by Buch but it was far from terrible. To many walks for sure but i liked the way he mixed in his pitches tonight...I actually think he did that better tonight than in any other start he has made this year. s*** I think Ortiz might have hurt his ankle or foot on that play at first base.
  10. Punto is caught dancing to a punch out on his way to 1st base more than any batter I have ever seen.
  11. Ross had no chance...he does not have the speed to have gotten over there to make that play and the Tommy B play from years ago that everybody remembers was a once in a lifetime play. Sweeney would not have made it either. Ells would have made it and hurt himself.
  12. And as usual all the runs are charged to the starter anyway so you leave the guy helpless in the dugout just watching his ERA going up more. I am not saying V is the problem. As I have said before though V is so much like that very last straw that goes on the pile as you hear the camel's back go CRACK.
  13. V does not leave his guys room for anything.....I am sorry but that just does not make any sense. Often it is like this as well...not even two outs...sometimes you can say well OK he has two outs and he is trying to save one reliever by giving the starter a chance to end the inning. However Buch was not going to get out of this inning. It would have taken a miracle.
  14. Well that was in the cards...I don't get this about V cause this is enough times now to be a trend...I don't know what V is doing when he does this....I cannot rationalize it no matter what angle I try to come at it from.
  15. s*** walks walks walks...good outing for Buch though...notice V is absolutely adamant that the reliever will come in with the bases loaded....uncanny in that regard....usually it is bases loaded and two runs already in...I guess this is an improvement.
  16. Buch has had a decent hook tonight and has used it. Had one last outing as well although not much went right. Maybe this outing is something of a progression from the last outing. I had really not seen a good hook from him this year until that last outing.
  17. I wonder if Buch really felt pressured tonight to come up with the goods. Hopefully he will continue to pitch like this. I have no way to explain the Podster. No idea what we can possibly want with him...are they growing short of OFer's in Pawtucket? I guess I could buy that one. Mesmerizing
  18. BC must be feelin' the heat from 700's comments about passing on Abreu but Geez this guy does not have the potential Abreu had. Only similarity...left handed????
  19. Boy I never see them use a camera behind WMB. That must be a shoulder carried job.
  20. V should tape this game and force feed it to the Sox until they get the message that this is how they must play to have a chance to win games.
  21. Another nice piece of hitting by Sweeney.
  22. If Kotchman had just gone directly to third Ross was dead
  23. Nava has been a good addition to the Sox in this game. He has played good defense...he has been smart and patient at the plate, has been good on the base paths....nice job so far tonight.
  24. No question 4 runs can win a game....that would suggest that Buch does not blow up though. They way V has handled the starting pitchers if Buch blows up ya' gotta figure the tribe is likely to score 3 runs anyway. Hard to bet that Buch won't eventually have a blow up at some point tonight that will equal 3 runs or more.
  25. I agree pumps which is why I think they have to avoid playing s***** baseball. They have played reasonably good, smart baseball so far tonight. When they play poorly (which has been most of the time lately) and combine that with their starting pitching...it is a poisonous combination. Starting pitching is almost everything to begin with and if you play stupid baseball as well...I don't see how you win games that way...even 50% of your games that way regardless of how crummy the teams you play might be.
