  1. I can see why V decided to bite the bullet on AGons in Fenway's right but every day??? Ain't like Agons is hitting the cover off the ball. Why not spell him here and there instead of having him out there every day.
  2. I thought he could have had Pods at second. At first I thought...holy cow Pods must still be fast but if the Rays had executed that right he would have been gone
  3. Even if Pena was going well...lead off does not seem right
  4. I am so tired of saying the same thing every time he comes up.....I give up....worse thing about that base hit last night is that it will encourage Agons to keep swinging at the first pitch as if he needed more encouragement. So we can expect another run of rotten at bats surrounding the occasional hit.
  5. Do the cable systems get much money for adding the Rays network to the service?
  6. If-If-If...I love all this presupposition about a player that has a reputation for burning as hot and as cold as it gets with another added dose of presupposition that Bailey and Sweeney will without doubt fail. So now in order to support an argument that is simply premature we are going to try to surround it with hypotheticals. Ridiculous!
  7. Buch will likely need all the Mo he can get.
  8. Really great win for the Sox...I am going to be really interested to see how they come out tomorrow. I am so sick of the usual....we are pros, we play as well as we can play every game blah blah blah....wanna see them come out and play like they have some enthusiasm and some Mo.
  9. Boy they needed that win. Conventional wisdom (right or wrong) is to play for the tie when at home and for the win on the road. I do believe that is why Punto was bunting ahead of Salty. I tend to think the right move depends to some degree on the players the manager has available to him. I have said before I like Salty swinging for the fences. Think it is the best way for him to go all things considered. Liked seeing Nava come back and partially redeem himself also. Would have hated to see that performance by Beckett wasted and LOVE seeing Price's go down the s*** chute flushed with that turkey Rodney.
  10. Walk off Salty......Thank God that worked out. There is that classic green light HR pitch to the LH batter...down and in...Salty got all of it.
  11. Atta' boy Nava Wow, seeing that throw from the outfield again...even better the second time around A successful bunt!!!!
  12. Does he ever..he does not have enough going for him to make bonehead plays
  13. Bryd has executed the Sac bunt one time so far but did not look good doing it and had failed the other time before this. Would have been better off with somebody else trying to get the runner over.
  14. Correct....I would still have had him bunting 0-1. Byrd is not that good a hitter and even righty/lefty I would have preferred Byrd trying to move the runner over than hitting away.
  15. Not sure if Gonzo was just pulled for a runner or if he was dinged a bit. I thought ht looked a little gimpy on the way to the dugout but maybe not. I think we would have heard something by now if it was an injury. I was thinkin' that there might have been an announcement and I missed it.
  16. Pedey was ready to kick Lin right in the balls
  17. Nothing on Gonzo??? Has anybody heard anything yet?
  18. Wow....thank you Mr Byrd. Why was he back to swinging away after one effort to bunt. I still thought he should have been trying to bunt him over but I know that sounds like Monday Morning Quarterbacking.
  19. Nice piece of hitting Pedey. Interested to see what the Rays do here. Price will be tough on Ortiz even close to 100 pitches in
  20. For the love of God Aviles was no better than Byrd...all we needed there was for Aviles to dump the ball into right field....I would be more OK with a fail if Mike was even trying to do what he needed to do.
  21. Yea I thought that was the case markj. Can't move the runner over....nice Byrd
  22. Way ta' go Kelly..No f***in' around here Sox...need to get this run in
  23. That was in fact the worse play Nava has made either in the field or at the plate. Worse than the play he made from the outfield I think it was last week. In fact it was a similar play as I recall. Maybe his decision making on throws from the outfield are his weak spot as far as how he plays the game. I could be wrong but I think that is twice now. He does not have a great arm so I am not sure where he thinks he is going with that.
  24. That was a pretty tough play for the SS to make. I actually would like to see more scoring based on whether the fielder had a reasonable shot at getting to the ball in the first place. If that ball had come up for the SS, then I would have called that an error. But considering how far he came and the ball staying down on him, I would tend to call that a hit. Would like to see a replay to confirm my impression that the ball stayed down on him.
  25. I cannot believe Pedey did not get home on that. That was one hell of a throw. Maybe the best mid to short outfield throw I have seen so far this year. Wau ta' go WMB.
