    Ya gotta give Lester credit for one...maybe two things: He did not appear to let the ump drive him bat s*** (although I actually think this ump helped him) He did not let the Tigers beat him the way they are designed to beat teams....HRs'

    Still you cannot call that performance better than OK and it is certainly below average for what you would expect from your Ace. We are calling for Beckett to be the #1 mainly because he is throwing somewhat better than Lester but Beckett would not be up to expectations for a 1 on a contending team either.

    Not to say that play in right is Agons fault. V has been living dangerously with that. V is just lucky that he did not get the trifecta with that play...Agons does not make the play...the run scores...Agons hurt!

    Well that has been waiting to happen for a few games now and bookends the throwing mistake of a few nights ago.

    Not sure why V allowed Lester to stay after that first rocket off the wall. Seemed like that was a break for V. Wow keeping him in. This is more on V than Lester if it blows up

    Nava is a baseball player...that is what he is....he is not a coulda been Linebacker or a shoulda been power forward....he is a baseball player.

    Well of course that is why it is such a quiet hitting streak. He has really not accomplished anything. Did you see the stats they posted for the ten games. I nearly fell off my chair they were so pathetic for hitting streak stats. He has scalded the ball for a 289 average over the ten games, with 5 RBI and a HR....now that is getting it done

    If the Sox go up and down real quick I might let him go. But on balance I would say no. He would leave with a lead at this point and has really been living on thin ice the whole game. The absolute only way to do it would be to have the guy ready in the pen and give Lester a one batter shot. If nobody gets on, let him finish the inning. Soon as somebody got on...out he comes. That would be the only way I would consider it.

    You get the award....most strained string of words ever put together in an effort to squeeze out a compliment. Geez that is without doubt the most constipated compliment I have ever heard for a pitching performance. Just kidding ya' big fella:D:D

    Agons on the quietist ten game hitting streak in the history of baseball.

    This ump has got the Tiger hitters all screwed up about low strikes. He has been giving Lester those pitches out of the strike zone and it has really got the Tigers screwed up. About the one thing Lester has going for him tonight.

    Well if he does not give up another run and goes 6, his ERA stays where it is...no improvement. If gives up even one more run, his ERA goes up to about 5 again.

    I don't know...I like space aliens myself...has a nice ring to it. So far he is just not making his pitches tonight and I don't know what to think about that...he is one pitch away from this game looking to be in serious trouble and he has been that way since the 1st inning.

    At least Smelly has been once through the lineup now so everybody has seen him. Maybe they will get some hits now. Would be nice if the Sox actually started a game in the 1st inning instead of the 4th but hey what do you expect for a measly $180M?

    Well I guess I have to admit the guy has got decent location on his pitches but it is not like he has anything on them...I mean anything!
