  1. aviles continues his slide into oblivion.
  2. Remy and Don talking about the weather since there is no ballgame to talk about
  3. I am more pissed that McClure did not come out and get Morales thinking right when he was nipping at corners with Jeter. I like Morales a bunch. Left handers have a real tough time at Fenway. I hate McClure with a passion cause I think he is a totally useless sack of s***.
  4. Mistake pitches to good hitters will do it every time. C'mon...lets here more about how the problem is the hitting and that starting rotation is just fine.
  5. Oh did poo widdo wobby hurt is widdo figga' oh poo wobby...f*** you Cano.
  6. Jeter is starting SS for the ALG...talk about an embarrassment.....the AL is once again turning into the old folks league.
  7. As for horse-face...he occupies a spot at the top of my hated Yankee list although a bunch of them are tied for first.
  8. I don't think Franky can afford to nip at guys growing ancient like Jeter...at some point you have to go after him when you have Franky stuff.
  9. Those jackasses that NESN insisting on giving some camera time to those guys last night siting in the owners box are the guys embarrassing Red Sox nation. They run their camera's up there again today and I am going to file a complaint with the FCC for excessively violent mid-day programming. Anytime we have to look at grinning TW and JH and their cronies violence is being done to us.
  10. Abraham just said that Crawford is saying that the elbow does not feel ANY better than it did. I am so f***ing done with this Crawford s*** yet we are not done with it cause it still is likely the last nail in the Ells coffin making it a virtual certainty that the Sox will not come up with the goods to retain Ells out of FA.
  11. I want to see players up that provide V with some lineup and game management flexibility, guys that give V and the Sox a better shot in those games that are not played in the optimal fashion for a Sox team. Lavs does not do that at this point so I would likely say no to Lavs.
  12. Salty is likely not playing in this game because he will be playing in the night game. Very difficult for a catcher. Ross does not hit RH pitchers that well and would likely struggle more against today's Yanks pitcher than most. I would expect both Salty and Ross in the night game.
  13. Aviles is not going to just turn this around either. It is clear that ML pitchers and scouts have got a book on him now....they know how to get him out and they are just burying him. He will likely be able to work this out over time so that it is not as big a problem for him as it is now but as of now his hitting issues are very similar to Crawford's of last year....as in not something likely to get better during the season. Aviles in my view is in worse shape from RH pitchers than Crawford was from LH hitters at any time last year. Any pitcher that can find that weak spot that Aviles has owns Aviles at this point and the only hits he is going to get are from guys that can't hit that spot. So for my money it is time to see Iggy especially in any games that based on the starting pitching matchups and general team match ups looks like tight low scoring games.
  14. Actually I agree with the above comment about CC...who cares...I am done with him....maybe the worst investment of Sox resources in the entire history of the team.....as long as Ells is on the way back I am good with that. If and when CC comes back this year....fine...if not....fine. Who gives a s***.
  15. Here I think you have finally hit on the problem with most of the perspectives we read on this board with regard to the various components of the team and which is the weakest link responsible for most of the demise of this team. You are correct...there are no easy solutions to the rotation. That does not unfortunately rewrite the history of baseball and suddenly make it possible to simply hit more and expect to win. If you don't get timely hitting it does not matter that you hit more and if you do not control the other team's offense (starting pitching) even timely hitting is sitting in the back seat. We don't want to deal with the issue of the starting pitching because there are no quick fixes to the starting pitching and quick fixes are all we are really interested in talking about. The problem with trying to avoid the real problem and just do more of the things we do reasonably well is that it forces the team to expend effort and resource outside of the area where they need to spend it. As for defense and the issues at positions like SS and Catcher they don't deserve to get a pass there. They sought these players out! They went out and got them to play those positions purposefully putting a utility infielder at SS, a guy who's hitting numbers are now plummeting back to earth, a guy that butchers SS on a daily basis...that is another issue that we need to stop sticking our heads in the sand about...he is a butcher at SS....a guy who should be playing that position on occasion, not everyday.
  16. And so what are we going to say when the pitching numbers have ballooned back up again because we are now actually going to be facing some teams that actually have an offense? Last night was no anomaly. Last night was just the beginning.
  17. Well this is going to just about assure that the best we can get this weekend is a split as I don't see much chance of the Sox taking both ends of a double header tomorrow. We are more likely to come out of tomorrow 1-2 on the series and needing the Sunday game just to split. They had to have this game tonight and once again the starting pitching let them down. We had a shot at it cause the Yanks starting pitching was nothing to write home about. Then the Yanks pen out-pitched our pen and that was that.
  18. I know.... Warner looked just as surprised that the ball did not hit him right in the mouth and knock all his teeth out....not a one of them looks like he could actually hit, catch or throw a baseball. That might be true for many owners and baseball managers but they look particularly pitiful...at least to me.
  19. As far as the commitment from management I do think all of the promotional stuff that has gone on has been ill timed as well. They all look fat dumb and happy sitting up there in their luxo box and meantime we are just dying for a few wins....not more bat sales and brick sales and what-have-you. For us as fans they seem kinda' detached at this point.
  20. Honestly Native.....I usually hope for the run at a time approach probably more than anybody here but we have done so poorly in these tight games lately I think we need a dinger with guys on.....so take that you Native you.....just didn't want you to feel left out of the snarlyness.
  21. J Don't know if this was your reference point Native but I could not help but think of the guy in the bleachers in that movie, Major Leagues...as the ball gets creamed off of Charlie Sheen he says "to high" hoping it won't make it out....his buddies just won't let him up off the canvas after that..."to high....what does that mean"
  22. Just announced...Ray Allen signing with the Heat
  23. I think somebody is going to have to put one out for us to really have a shot here.
  24. Yea that Yankee pinstripe thing....the ultimate corporate team
  25. Damn it every pitcher in the league seems to know where to go after Mike...Hopefully this guy makes a mistake
