V has got to come up with a better lineup as well. Crawford has no business in the 2 hole. I sorta' wanted to see him there tonight just to see if we could get some idea of that this lineup would be with Ells 1 and Crawford 2 playing against a good team. Seen all of that I want to see. They need some guys to get on base...nobody gets on base! Maybe they will be forced to go Ells, Nava, Agons, Pedey, Salty (no choice), WNB, Ross, Ciriaco, Crawford. Middlebrooks...another of the Sox that insists on trying to pull balls on the outer third...stupid...they are easy meat doing that.

Does anybody remember how Crawford hit with Tampa? I know he has not had much success against LH pitchers but I don't remember him being owned like this by RH pitchers that could keep moving the ball off the outer edge of the plate. Pitchers are going to catch on to his inability to do anything with pitches on the outer edge regardless of the pitcher.

As usual, the Sox are to far behind to consider sending Ells.....and there goes Crawford on the outer edge again. That is really all you have to do to get Crawford out which makes the HR pitch doubly stupid. You really don't even have to show him something inside. Just plant it on the outer edge and keep going farther and farther out.

Aviles is another guy that they own on the outer edge of the plate. That one was actually off the the plate a tiny bit but Remy is wrong....most of the called 3rd strikes on Aviles have been on the black or even inside it according to the pitch location software that NESN uses.

Will you please get some guys on base and then hit one out...something....Have you ever seen such a lack of offensive flow and continuity in your entire life? Even our three runs don't represent rallys of any kind and their's are just pissing me off to no end cause Cook should have been out of every one of those innings but the last. Score should be 3-2 Sox.

Brennen it is definitely both...that place is a joke....a band box really. Look at that fly ball by Chavez. That was nothing...It was a pop fly for crying out loud and it almost got out....IN THE POWER ALLEY! Martin's HR just now was hit pretty good though. Cook just put that in a really bad spot and all the Yanks HR's are with guys on...all the Sox are singletons.

Damn....we are closing in on the Yanks taking Hughes out of this game. We needed to get him before this. Maybe next inning will be are last shot at him.

Another 1 run HR...nobody on as usual. What the hell.....anybody ever win a game scoring 10 runs all on HR's with nobody on?

Sounds like the Rangers are shifting their attention to Shields and not Beckett. Maybe the Rays won't be willing to trade him. I guess I am not surprised at the lack of interest in Beckett. Maybe the Sox are sending...we won't absorb any salary vibes on Beckett.

Even Ciriaco would have made both plays I suspect without even blinking an eye.

So that is three outs we lost at SS and all four runs regardless of Cook being unable to keep the ball down. If I hear the word "adequate" again to describe a player's fielding I am going to go right off the deep end.

Oh my God Aviles again...that was his ball...not Pedey's...just step in and take it for God's sake.

If Cook could just keep the ball down, we might be able to come back since Hughes is just terrible. If we are still behind once Hughes is out of the game though I think our goose will be cooked.

I think the Angels are going to sow up at least one of the WC spots. Don't even thing the second will come out of the East this year.

Hughes is so stupid....thank God....all he has to do is keep the ball away from Carl and Carl is done. Thank you Mr Hughes.

Maybe just maybe one thing that MIGHT come out of this season is finally a healthy respect for run prevention. This game should be 1-0 Sox even with Cook's problems on the mound. Instead it is 3-1 Yanks because the Sox insisted on putting a defensive butcher, utility infielder as their every day SS, SS.....only the most important defensive position on the field.

Cook still up with virtually everything here in the second as well. Won't matter who makes what errors at this point. Cook will just get hammered silly where he is putting the baseball.

By the time all the teams that are actually contenders make improvements, the Sox are going to be getting bounced around by everybody. Gonna' be lucky to stay out of the basement.

Well that makes three runs off the missed DP and that is why actual scored errors don't tell the story of this defense. Cook is up with everything at this point and had to get outta' that inning on that ground ball and hope he could settle for the second inning. I am sorry...I don't care how he hits...ya' gotta get a SS that can make plays even if he can't hit his weight cause Aviles is just deadly.

Once again Aviles takes to long to execute a play and we lose the DP. Usually if we lose it Aviles is fielding the batted ball to slowly to get the front end of the DP. This time he just took to long to execute the back end. Amazing how many outs we give the opposition and how many runs it turns into.

Things like that first at bat scare the living s*** out of me. Carl is up against a nothing RH pitcher. So at least he is not facing a lefty with a slider that he can stick on the outside corner. Unfortunately as discussed before, a RH pitcher that has either a cutter or a change that he can hang out over the outer third or even way off the plate has as much success against Carl as a LH pitcher that has the slider.
