  1. Can I not hear anymore about a AA CF who really is our future at CF somehow providing some kind of advantage in LF at this stage of his career?
  2. Come on Dempster...playing with trouble here
  3. How did the MASN guys handle those last two pitched to JBJ that were called balls. Did they go ballistic?
  4. That looked like a pitch from the first start.
  5. Arrietta was lucky to get outta' that inning. He never did calm down after the calls at home plate and the missplay in LF. Stark dif between how he handled that and the way Dempster handled the error in the outfield.
  6. Arrietta is rattled. Two balls that should have been called strikes to JBJ followed by his LFer miss-playing a double into a triple and run scored.
  7. JBJ gets a break from the ump that at bat.
  8. Ells is the CF...Vic needed to give way and make it obvious he had done so. As it was Vic was still not positioned to catch the ball where it landed. Just got in the way.
  9. Salty on safari again hunting pop ups. Got that one.
  10. Some of them just don't learn. They should never go there with Salty. Not a good pitch to him. Nice job of hitting on his part.
  11. Definitely a good job of staying focused and limiting the damage after the error in the outfield. Somebody else we know might have fallen apart. Some of Dempsters best pitches came after the error. Good thing as with the walk, he was stuck with men on 2nd and 3rd at the point of the error occurring. This is a little of the downside of having CFers playing together. Ells is used to guys giving way and making it obvious that they have done so. Vid sort of just stood there. Should have backed off and positioned himself to back up Ells. Maybe they have gotten this out of their system as they almost doinked into each other a few games ago as well.
  12. Don talking like the fly ball did not touch anybody. I thought it just nipped off the end of Ells glove.
  13. Dempster so far much higher % of balls down compared to first start.
  14. Been waiting for that to happen since Ells and Vic almost did it a couple days ago.
  15. Iggy has to play every day. There is no formula for Iggy playing even regularly with Drew back.
  16. We don't even know what Ace would excel in at this point. So far based on the Ace we have not the Ace we had, I would say nothing. As for being solid for a few starts if you want to call seeing a bomb going into the stratosphere every other or every third inning solid then yes I guess Ace will be solid.
  17. I think the whole discussion 7 seven games into the 2013 campaign leaves much to be desired. But if you want to really discuss why it has gone well so far it is because Lester and Buch have pitched well so far. That is it in a nutshell. Everything else that has happened so far shrivels to near insignificance. Can they keep it up as we get into the night games and the hitting season? Who knows...not enough time so far to tell. This is particularly true for Buch as his issues tend to be an ability to take the ball every scheduled start. Given that Farrell probably knows how to get the most out of Lester and Buch combined with the fact that he is not a known self-centered, lying sack of s*** like the last Manager makes the Farrell decision important to the early results as well. Best new player addition based on results so far has got to be Victorino even with a few overly aggressive running plays. Worst has got to be Gomes when you consider the initial reports that he was to be our platoon LF, when in fact he will have us wincing every time we see him out there ....whenever that is. Most overlooked aspect of Sox need in the off-season...obviously the starting pitching. As for Lackey, how can we possibly be surprised if his time on the shelf exceeds the initial announcements from the Sox. It has been an age and a day since any projection of player available from the Sox has turned out even remotely accurate as they are always cheery expectations of a speedy return.
  18. I kinda' agree Pal. Maybe not for the same reason. I think from what I could tell, Drew's responses to the post concussion testing have been a bit inconsistent. Feels OK, does a little running, not OK. I would probably think it makes sense to just let him play a little minor league ball before coming back up. Let him play a few more games and get into a rhythm. See if he is really past this up and down thing for one.
  19. Good game....Maybe they need to play all 162 in a row, one right after the other!:D
  20. Love seeing Show burned in situations like that. Nava 3 run blast late. Not much time left to try to catch up 3 runs.
  21. Ha-Ha ....A little late with the reliever Show.
  22. Good pitching on a tough day to hit. O's not having much luck with Buch either are they?
  23. I am sure both pitchers are benefiting from the sun crossing between home and the mound. So it does cut both ways. I really think they just had the wrong approach against Happ. Chen is pitching very well and the sun is helping both Chen and Buch.
